Gallery Exhibits & Talks Montileaux interned under noted artist Oscar Howe and also credits his personal friend and mentor the late Herman Red Elk as his primary muse. Montileaux’s art is represented in many private and public collections. He has illustrated covers for numerous books, with his most recent cover Hundred in Hand by Joseph M. Marshall III. In 2006 he won the Best of Division and First Place at SWAIA Indian Art Market, Santa Fe, NM and Best of Show at the 2007 Artists of the Plains Art Show and Sale sponsored by the Center for Western Studies. He is also the author of the award-winning children's book Tatanka and the Lakota People: A Creation Story. Future Exhibits...
