The faculty are those who have been granted status as faculty members by the Board of Trustees upon recommendation of the President. The faculty shall consist of teachers with the ranks of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, or Instructor, and any other designated by the President.


Assistant Professor - Biology

PositionTitle: Assistant Professor - Biology

TEACHING EXPECTATIONS:  Duties typically include teaching 2 lectures and 2 labs each semester and a January term course. These will include a team-taught  genetics course and a molecular biology course in alternating semesters, as well as other courses based on the needs of the department and qualifications of the applicant.   

RESEARCH EXPECTATIONS:  While teaching is a major component of the position, productive research involving undergraduates is expected and is a long-standing tradition in the department. The college is situated in an area experiencing rapid growth in biomedical, biotech, agricultural, and environmental research, offering collaboration opportunities in various research areas (for more information go to http://www.augie.edu/academics/biology).  A research startup will be provided as well as access to extensive existing research equipment ($1,350,000 in new purchases in the department over the last decade). 

SALARY:  Salary is competitive and dependent upon qualifications; excellent fringe benefits are included.

Augustana University Psychology Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor beginning Fall 2021. Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology required by August 2021.

Successful applicants will demonstrate strong commitment to excellent teaching in a liberal arts environment and to mentoring undergraduate students, including in advising, research and pre-professional clinical experience. Candidates should be able to teach Abnormal Psychology, Diagnosis and Assessment, and Behavior Modification. Other available courses include Introductory Psychology, Life-span Human Development, and/or courses within the candidate's area of specialization (such as Behavioral Neuroscience, Multicultural Psychology, Child/Adolescent Psychopathology, or others). Teaching load is 3 classes in Fall and Spring and 1 course in January term.
