The University is committed to its vision of becoming one of America’s premier church-related universities. In recent years, the institution has expanded its pre-professional and graduate offerings, becoming a comprehensive university in the liberal arts tradition. Guided by its ambitious strategic plan, “Horizons 2019,” Augustana seeks to grow its student body from its current approximate 2,100 members to 2,500 by 2019. In pursuit of that plan, the University saw its largest incoming class since 1978 in fall 2017.

The successful candidate will possess an earned doctorate or equivalent terminal degree; senior-level academic and administrative leadership experience; strong academic credentials in teaching, scholarship, and service; a track record in fostering collaborative relationships; and a commitment to diversity.
