A. After Augie I worked in the Sanford Emergency Department for two years gaining the knowledge and experience needed to take the leap into travel nursing. For the past two years, my career has taken me from coast to coast having the adventures of a lifetime!
Q. Greatest challenges and best rewards of your current role?
A. Being a nurse gives me to opportunity to help people every time I walk into a hospital. Getting to be a part of the healing process for patients and seeing their positive outcomes makes all the hard moments worth it.
Q. What’s given you the greatest personal satisfaction since graduating from Augie? And why?
A. Leaving my comfort zone of Sioux Falls was a huge leap, but being able to succeed in frequently changing environments has shown me I am capable of more than I thought.
Q. What were you involved in that prepared you for the present and future?
A. Augustana provided opportunities and encouragement to learn outside of the classroom and across the globe. These adventures helped to develop my love for traveling, exploring new places, and experiencing new cultures.
Q. If you could offer an Augustana student some advice, what would you say?
A. Say yes. Say yes to all the opportunities Augustana has to offer. Join the club, take that trip. You are only there for a short time, so take advantage of it.
