
Viking Days Schedule of Events
Almost all of your favorite Viking Days events are taking place on campus again this year. Tickets for the Thought Leader Forum, Viking Varieties, the football game (Augustana vs. Winona State), and the Blue and Gold Gala are available online.
Student events during Viking Days are also listed below. (The * denotes a student/campus community event.) These events are not open to the public, but are an important part of the homecoming celebration. Like the song says — Viking Days will put you in "A Viking State of Mind!" We hope you will join us for a weekend of exciting events.
Friday, Oct. 14th
Alumni Career Symposium — scheduled throughout the day in locations across campus
Hosted by the Career Center, the Symposium provides alumni an opportunity to share their experiences with current students through panels and discussions. For more information about how to become involved, contact the Career Center at career@augie.edu
Augustana Honor Guard Reunion —9 a.m. and continuing throughout the day, Our Savior's Lutheran Church
The Augustana Honor Guard (alumni who have celebrated their 50th class reunion), is celebrating a reunion again this year during Viking Days.
Chapel – 10 a.m., Chapel of Reconciliation
Re-dedication of the Ole the Viking Statue – 10:20 a.m., around Ole
Join us as we recognize the important contribution of alumnus Peter Eide '66, creator of the Ole the Viking statue that has kept watch over the Augustana campus since 1967. A plaque commemorating the statue will be unveiled with spirit and enthusiasm during this event.

Honor Guard Reception — 3:00 p.m., The Gathering Place, Our Savior's Lutheran Church
Join us for cake and coffee as we celebrate the Class of 1961 and welcome them to the Honor Guard. This reception is for all alumni who have been inducted into the Augustana Honor Guard.
Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet — 6:00 p.m. Social Hour, 7:00 p.m. Dinner, Starlite Room, Holiday Inn City Centre

Class Reunions — all evening, in various locations throughout the city
Class reunion events for classes ending in 1 and 6 are taking place on Friday, October 14. Remember to make your class reunion reservations this summer!
KANSAS and The Augustana Orchestra In Concert — 7:00 p.m., Washington Pavilion
This is a once-in-a-lifetime concert. Tickets are available at the Pavilion website: www.washingtonpavilion.org.
Viking Varieties — 9:15 p.m. and 11: p.m.*, Edith Mortenson Center Theatre
This evening features two performances — one for the public (9:15 p.m.) and one just for Augustana students (11:00 p.m.)! The show kicks off early with a special pre-show performance by The Augustana Brass Choir. Tickets for the 9:15 p.m. show ($15/adults, $10/students and senior citizens) are available at www.augietickets.com. Tickets for the student show (11:00 p.m.) have been discounted to $5 (for this show only) with your student ID and are available at www.augietickets.com. Seating is not reserved, so come early!
Saturday, Oct. 15th
The homecoming parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15. To accommodate the parade, no parking will be allowed on the parade route effective 6 a.m. until the end of the parade.

Dignitary Breakfast* — 8:30 a.m., Our Savior's Lutheran Church across 33rd Street from campus
Viking Days Tent Receptions — 9:30 a.m., around campus
These tents are a great place to grab a bite to eat and catch up with classmates and faculty before, during and after the parade.
Homecoming Parade — 10 a.m., Summit Ave. to 28th Street to Grange Ave.
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, find a spot on the curb, and enjoy the parade.
Pre-Game Gathering — 11:30 a.m., outside Kirkeby-Over Stadium
The festivities continue outside the stadium in an area known as “Vikingland,” with game-day food, prizes and activities for the whole family. This is an event you don’t want to miss!
Augustana Band Alumni Picnic — 11:30 a.m., 3-in-1 Room, Morrison Commons
Band alumni are encouraged to go through the cafeteria line in the Dining Room and then meet in the Paxton Room. Dr. Bruce Ammann will be there to greet band members and alumni.
Viking Days Football Game — 1 p.m., Kirkeby-Over Stadium
Augustana vs. Winona State

Alumni Choir Reunion and Rehearsal #1— 4 p.m., Kresge Recital Hall
All Augustana Choir alumni are invited to sing under the direction of Dr. James Johnson, Augustana Choir director from 1992 - 2011, this fall during Viking Days. Dr. Johnson will be back for this reunion event and will conduct the choir for Viking Days worship which takes place at the Elmen Center on Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. Registration information is available through AugieLink.
The Blue & Gold Gala — 6 p.m., Ordal Dining Room, Morrison Commons
Celebrate Augustana with us at the Blue and Gold Gala. Featuring our Alumni Achievement Award recipients and special musical entertainment. Join us for a social hour followed by an elegant dinner and a message from President Oliver. Our event will conclude in time for guests to attend the 9:15 p.m. Viking Varieties show if they desire. A special farewell gathering at the Fellows’ Presidential Residence in honor of Dr. James Johnson, director of the Augustana Choir from 1992-2011. All choir alumni are invited to attend to wish Dr. Johnson well! Refreshments will be provided.
