Archeology Laboratory

During this upcoming summer of 2012, faculty and students from England's University of Exeter will team up with students, faculty and staff from the Augustana College Archeology Laboratory for field school in the Thomsen Center Archeodome of the Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village.
While  "anthropology" is not your standard college major — Augustana sees an increase in anthropology majors.

Augustana's Archeology Laboratory is a self-sustaining teaching and research entity with offices and laboratory facilities based on the campus of Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. For more than 30 years, the Archeology Laboratory has been involved in archeological, paleoenvironmental, ethnohistorical, architectural and historical/oral historical studies and museum consulting in the Great Plains Region and its peripheries. The Laboratory undertakes research and contract work and collaborates closely with scientists from around the world.

Our well-qualified and experienced professional archeologists provide a broad range of cultural resource management, historic preservation and archeological research experience.
