Archeology Laboratory

The Sunday, March 16, Third Sunday Archeology Program will feature Steven De Vore, National Park Service (NPS) Archeologist for Midwest Archeological Center, discussing “Geophysics in Archeology: A National Park Service Perspective” at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, in GSC 100.

Augustana's Archeology Laboratory is a self-sustaining teaching and research entity with offices and laboratory facilities based on the campus of Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. For more than 30 years, the Archeology Laboratory has been involved in archeological, paleoenvironmental, ethnohistorical, architectural and historical/oral historical studies and museum consulting in the Great Plains Region and its peripheries. The Laboratory undertakes research and contract work and collaborates closely with scientists from around the world.

Our well-qualified and experienced professional archeologists provide a broad range of cultural resource management, historic preservation and archeological research experience.
