Archeology Laboratory

When you think of your standard college majors, "anthropology" generally doesn't come to mind. Yet, more and more students are choosing to study it — Augustana is reporting a 250 percent increase in anthropology majors compared to last year.

Augustana's Archeology Laboratory is a self-sustaining teaching and research entity with offices and laboratory facilities based on the campus of Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. For over 30 years, the Archeology Laboratory has been involved in archeological, paleoenvironmental, ethnohistorical, architectural and historical/oral historical studies and museum consulting in the Great Plains Region and its peripheries. The Laboratory undertakes research and contract work and collaborates closely with scientists from around the world.

Our well-qualified and experienced professional archeologists provide a broad range of cultural resource management, historic preservation and archeological research experience.
