Special Features

Many features make an education degree from Augustana distinctive:

• Our teacher education program has entrance and exit requirements designed to monitor students throughout their course of study. Candidates are formally accepted into the program with a minimum of 2.6 GPA and must complete the PRAXIS exam as required by the Augustana Education Department and the South Dakota Department of Education to be recommended for program completion.
• Augustana Reads, an after-school literacy program for English Language Learners that maximizes student learning by increasing engagement in the reading and writing process, is a Sioux Empire United Way-funded program. The program is a collaborative effort among Augustana College, the Multi-Cultural Center, and the Sioux Falls School District.
