Language and Culture SeminarsCHINESE Chinese Language and Culture. This seminar offers an introduction to Chinese language and culture. Visual materials will be included, and participants will explore the structure of the Chinese language. Dates: April 8 and 15 Time: 6:00-9:00 P.M. This seminar provides general information and addresses fundamental questions of the goals of education. Designed for those without a special background in the field. Date: April 17 Time: 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. Location: Humanities Center 302 Cost: Cost: $60 PORTUGUESE Saúde e Género—Health and Gender in Brazil. This seminar offers an introduction to sexual and reproductive health and rights programs from a “gender perspective” designed by Promundo, an international NGO based in Rio de Janeiro, with support from organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and USAID. This seminar is perfect for health educators, teachers, youth leaders or anyone interested in learning more about these programs and how to promote gender equity and reduce gender-based violence. An introduction to the Brazilian Portuguese language including grammar, sentence structure and basic language skills.
