The Bachelor's of Science in Nursing Degree at Augustana is a science and an art.
As a nursing major at Augustana, you will get weekly, hands-on clinical experience, helping you provide the best care possible to your future patients. With pass rates on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) at Augustana consistently higher than the state and national average, you won't want to prepare anywhere else.
For more than 70 years, Augustana's Department of Nursing has been a regional leader in preparing nurses, clinical nurse leaders, and administrators for hospitals and community health organizations. Our innovative program values excellence, service and complete health care for the community.
The baccalaureate program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and approved by the South Dakota Board of Nursing. Augustana has the only four-year professional nursing program in the region with a liberal arts curriculum as its foundation. Augustana graduates are prepared to address health care issues in a complex and rapidly-changing environment.
From the moment you decide to major in nursing, you will be welcomed to a department that works with you to tailor your course of study to your interests. Nursing majors excel here and are also actively involved as student-athletes, musicians, participate in study abroad, and more.
Along with all the important technical skills and knowledge you will acquire as a nursing student, you will learn to listen and think on your feet.
Are you ready for a challenge? Are you enthusiastic about helping others? Do you want to make a difference in the world through active, hands-on learning among a diverse group of students?
