Karla Abbott, MA, RN
Karla Abbott is transitioning into behavioral health nursing upon Dr. Karen Fritz' retirement. An enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, Karla is involved in research that preserves the health of Native Americans and transcultural nursing endeavors. She received her B.S.N. from Michigan State University and her master's in nursing from Augustana. Karla will be graduating in June 2013 with her doctorate of nursing practice (DNP) from Augsburg College in Minneapolis. Karla serves as ANSA advisor; Sanford Health Biomedical Ethics Committee member; S.D. Urban Indian Health board member; and S.D. Synod Multicultural Commitee of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
