Service-Learning Mini-Grants
The Service-Learning Committee is pleased to announce the availability of two types of service-learning mini-grants for faculty and/or student groups.
Faculty, in partnership with representatives of community agencies, may seek funding for service-learning projects that will
- meet community-identified needs
- advance students’ understanding of specific course content
- and promote civic engagement.
Critical reflective components are built into the course to help students consider relationships between their service, the course curriculum, current societal issues, and their professional goals.
Co-curricular service-learning may also be funded with regard to course content. It must provide service to meet a community need and include a strong reflection and evaluation component. Generally these service activities are directed under the leadership of student organizations and groups.
