Nancy attended Hamlin High School in South Dakota and is a Business Administration & Management graduate of Southwest Minnesota State University. She has been on the Admission staff since 1990.

Amazing colleagues and Augustana’s great professors and students make this her dream job. In addition to being an Augieholic, she is addicted to chocolate, Coke, and running. Among her most memorable Augustana experiences:  traveling to Germany in 2000 and India in 2008 with our Distinguished Scholars.

Territory/Responsibility: Transfer Students

Adam attended Brandon Valley (South Dakota) High School and graduated with honors from Augustana in 1999. He taught fifth grade at Lincoln Elementary School in Fargo for one year and joined the staff in 2000. In 2004, he completed an M.A. in Educational Leadership at the University of Sioux Falls.

Adam and his wife, Sandra '97, are the proud parents of Ella, Maya, and Jake. A former Augustana football player, Adam is a sports enthusiast and especially enjoys watching the Augustana Vikings in action on Saturdays. In his very limited free time, he also likes to hit the road for a run. Augustana has taken Adam many places, including Germany and Great Britain.

Melissa (Engel) graduated with honors from Augustana in 1991 with majors in English and Communications. She is thrilled to have returned to Augustana and loves welcoming prospective students to her alma mater and setting up their ideal day.

Melissa and her husband, Darin '91, are the proud parents of Matthew and Ellie. Matt just began his college career at Augustana and will graduate in 2015. Ellie attends Harrisburg Middle School and hopes to "Go Viking" in a few years. Melissa's siblings and in-laws are all proud Augustana graduates.

When not working, Melissa enjoys reading, watching movies at home with her family, and spending time with her other family "members"...a toy poodle and a miniature dachshund. Melissa is originally from Kasson, MN.

Tresse graduated with honors from Augustana in 2004 with majors in Professional Accountancy, Business Administration and Computer Information Systems. She completed a Business Education Endorsement from Wayne State College (NE) in 2006.  During her years at Augustana, she was a member of the women's basketball team. Her husband, Joe, also an Augustana graduate, is a member of the Viking football staff. They are the proud new parents of twin baby girls, Brynn and Jade. Tresse is originally from Worthington, Minnesota.

Carley graduated from Augustana in 2008 with a major in Sport Management. A Brookings, South Dakota, native, Carley was a standout member of the Viking women's golf team.

When asked to list her hobbies, Carley simply replied, "Target." An avid shopper, Carley is always on the lookout for the best deals. Carley also loves watching sports, particularly the Minnesota Vikings. She continues to compete on the amateur golf circuit in South Dakota.

Ben is a 2008 graduate of Augustana College.  He completed two majors, Religion and Interdepartmental.  The Interdepartmental major allowed him to further pursue his interests in both English and Philosophy.  Ben was a member of the Augustana Band, Brass Choir, and Northlanders Jazz Band.  In pursuit of a greater understanding of the world, he studied in China, Italy, Austria, and Greece.

After graduation, Ben spent four months in Costa Rica volunteering at an orphanage.  He is happy to be home in Sioux Falls and at Augustana (we hope he'll stay for a while), and he has a renewed appreciation for Commons dining.  In his free time, he can be found playing: intramurals, golf, video games, and in the Augustana Community Band.  He has also been providing Sunday morning sermons on occasion as he ponders seminary in his future.

Angie attended Jackson County Central High School and graduated with honors from Augustana in 2006. As a triple major of psychology, sociology, and German, Angie studied abroad in Scotland, Morocco, and India. 

While at Augustana, Angie was a four-year starter and two-year captain for the women's volleyball team. She was also involved with FCA, Chapel Musicians, Augustana Mission for Peace, and was a Student Ambassador in the Admission Office. Upon graduation, she spent one year in Berg, Germany, as an English teaching assistant and one year in Washington, D.C., as a volunteers and outreach associate with Transitional Housing Corporation. Recently, Angie served as the Vikings assistant volleyball coach for two seasons.

Kristin graduated from Luther College in 2009 with majors in anthropology and scandinavian studies. She is originally from Hutchinson, Minnesota. As a student, Kristin studied abroad in Tanzania and Norway.

Most recently, Kristin worked with AmeriCorps and the Admission Possible program. In her spare time, she likes to knit, play her mandolin, read, and spend time with her friends and family.

Territory/Responsibility: Western SD, Sioux Falls O'Gorman, NE, WY

Megan graduated with honors from Augustana in 2011 with a business administration major and marketing emphasis. She is a native of Alexandria, South Dakota.

A standout women's basketball player for the Augustana Vikings, Megan was a three year starter and led her team to the NCAA Central Regional Tournament twice. Also as a student, she was the Huddle Leader of FCA, President of SAAC, a Lutheran Social Services mentor, and served as a Student Ambassador in the Admission Office. In her spare time, Megan cheers for and defends her loyalty to the three most hated teams in professional sports: the Dallas Cowboys, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the New York Yankees.

Territory/Responsibility: International Students 

Ben graduated from Augustana College in 2004 with majors in International Studies and Spanish. Ben was a pitcher on the Viking baseball team. After graduation he worked as an International Coordinator at Bodoe University College in Norway. Ben is a native of Willmar, Minnesota. Ben is finishing year two of his master’s program in International Education at SIT.

So far, this adventure seeker has traveled to Spain, Norway, Nicaragua, and Greece. Other cultural topics (Minnesota culture, that is) to discuss with Ben are the Minnesota Twins and hunting.
