How did you choose your theatre major?
I actually came to Augie wanting to major in theatre, which is kind of crazy due to the fact that my high school was too small to even have a theatre program. I just always enjoyed being in front of people and being in speech competitions.

Looking back on your senior year of high school, why did you choose Augustana?
Augie was the only school I applied to. My sister graduated from Augie my senior year, so I had been here several times. When looking at schools my senior year, Augie was the school that best fit my interests.

What is the best class you have taken so far at Augustana?
That would have to be Art 110: Basic Drawing. I took it during J-term; it was nice having a month where I would go to class and doodle.

Do you plan to participate in any study abroad or other off-campus programs?
I am looking at doing an internship at a children's theatre in either Minneapolis or Seattle next J-term.

What is your favorite Augie hangout spot?
Now that the Huddle has been re-vamped it is a fun place to meet friends between classes, otherwise you can always find me taking a quick nap in the theatre lobby!

Do you have a favorite professor?
[Professor] Ivan Fuller. He is also one of my directors here at Augie. He is so great! If I am ever having a bad day or worried about whether I'm on the wrong path, he is always there for me to talk to and help me out.

What is your favorite meal in the Commons?
I love breakfast at the Commons! There are oodles of different cereals and a make-your-own omelet bar. I like to make my own eggs in the morning even though I don't normally have the patience to make the full omelet, I make some great scrambled eggs.

Which dorm do you currently live in and how did you choose your roommate?
I live in the penthouse of Stavig Hall (which to everyone else means 8th Floor Stavig). The best part about dorm life is having someone to talk to, whatever time, day or night. My roommate is my best friend! I met her the summer before my senior year on a 4-H trip. We barely knew each other but talked throughout the year on the internet. She mentioned she was going to Augustana, and I told her we should be roommates. We have been best friends ever since!

Do you have career goals or immediate plans after graduation?
I am planning on moving to Seattle to pursue a career in acting or working for a Children's theatre.

What do you plan to do this summer?
I am staying in Sioux Falls and plan on taking summer classes and working at Cool Bean's Coffee Shop.

Now that you're a sophomore, what advice would you give first-year students at Augie?
Get involved! Join a club or intramurals. You will meet tons of people and have a lot of fun.
