Center for Western Studies
Purpose: To preserve and interpret the history and cultures of the Northern Prairie Plains.
For over a quarter of a century the Center for Western Studies at Augustana College has grown and developed into an agency that is guided by a clear vision of its mission. As an archives, library, educational agency, publisher and museum, the Center works to preserve and interpret the historical record of this northern heartland, of South Dakota and its adjoining states.
In this spirit, the board and staff of the Center have dedicated themselves to widening its circle of support and to enriching its range of services.
