Students for a Short Time, Alumni for a Lifetime

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation and welcome to the Augustana Alumni Association. Following graduation you will join more than 20,000 alumni who have also attended Augustana College. Anyone who attends Augie becomes a member of the Augustana Alumni Association. This page is designed to inform you about the services we provide to you as an alum.

»Alumni Council - Members of the Augustana Alumni Council serve as the voice of the alumni. Among other things, council members assist with Viking Days and other events, select alumni award recipients, and advise the Alumni Office on various issues. Members of the Alumni Council are volunteers who are selected to serve three-year terms. The Council meets on campus during Viking Days and during the spring.

»The Augustana Today - As the official quarterly publication of the College, The Augustana Today is designed to inform alumni and friends what is happening on campus. The Class Notes section keeps you informed of what your classmates are doing. We encourage you to keep in touch with us and let us know developments in your life. Send us information on jobs, promotions, awards, weddings, and children. As long as we have a current address for you, you will receive The Augustana Today.There is an update form on-line for your convenience. So, as your address changes, be sure to let us know!

»Class Letters - Your class agent(s) will send you a letter twice a year, once in June and again in December. The letters are a way for your classmates to keep in touch with one another. The letters will include some information that won't necessarily be printed in The Augustana Today. Keep in touch with your class agent(s) and the Alumni Office so we know where you are and what you are doing!

»Website - Bookmark Augustana's website, www.augie.edu so you can keep up on all that is happening at your alma mater! From athletics to requesting transcript information, it can all be found on the website. Click on "Alumni" to keep informed of alumni events and other pertinent information. Come back often to see what's new.

»Ole E-mail Accounts
Your Ole e-mail account will remain active for one year following graduation. Feel free to use your account during this time. If you do decide to use another account, be sure to let us know.

» Alumni E-Mail Directory - We also maintain an alumni e-mail directory on the website. Under "Alumni," click "Alumni E-Mail Directory". To have your name listed, please e-mail the Alumni Office at alumni@augie.edu The directory is updated monthly. If you want the Alumni Office to have your e-mail address, but don't want it listed on-line, please let us know and we will honor that. Also, when your e-mail address changes, because we know they do, please send us a message with your new address.

»Augie E-News - Monthly, or as needed, we send a short e-mail newsletter to alumni informing them of what is going on at Augustana or to share other pertinent information about Viking Days or other events.

Programs

»Reunions - Viking Days is held each fall. Each year several classes celebrate reunions. Viking Days 2008 is October 3-5. Come back for your first reunion. A special gathering is planned in your honor! Mark your calendars now for your five-year reunion in October, 2013! Viking Days includes the parade, football game, and worship, and also the Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet, the Blue and Gold Gala, Viking Varieties, and the Afterglow following the Varieties show. Whether you're having a reunion or not, we encourage you to come to Viking Days and back to campus when you can. Registration information is sent each June with your class agent letter.

»Alumni Events - Various alumni events are held throughout the United States. When we're in your area, we encourage you to join us. We also encourage you to attend Augustana music events when we tour in your area. We'll keep you informed of these events through the mail and in The Augustana Today. We also list specific alumni events on the website.

»Horizon Award - This is something to keep in mind as you begin your career. Augustana presents a Horizon Award to alumni out of school 15 years or less who have excelled in their careers early on and who exemplify Augustana's five core values. The award is presented at Viking Days. An on-line nomination form is available or contact the Alumni Office.
