Italy
Charming, romantic, adventurous, and delicious(!) Italy has received more attention by travelers in the last decade than any other European country. Requests to travel with Augie to Italy have become nearly weekly suggestions! The good news is that Italy has been selected to become the site of a return visit by The Augustana Choir in June of 2008. The great news is that, with so much to see and do, the Augustana Alumni Office is thrilled to be able to offer our alumni and friends TWO equally amazing opportunities to explore Italy with Augustana in June of 2008! Option one features the “highlights” of Italy with a group of alumni and friends. Option two provides the opportunity to travel alongside the students of The Augustana Choir as they explore the secrets of the Italian countryside.
Which option is best? Only You can decide. Both will be wonderful!

Most recent intinerary
For those who have never had the opportunity to visit this remarkable country (and think you may only have one chance!) you may wish to join veteran traveler and tour manager Brad Heegel and alumni director Mary Toso as they introduce you to the magnificent cities of Venice and Florence followed by very special days in the villages and vineyards of Tuscany. You'll walk through the ruins of Pompeii , enjoy the Bay of Naples from the quaint city of Sorrento , and take a million photos on the unforgettable Isle of Capri. This tour comes to an end in the Eternal City of Rome, where no highlight will remain unseen, no historical ruin unconquered! To bring this tour to a most memorable conclusion, you will be part of a gala dinner with 70 Augustana students followed by front row seats to hear The Augustana Choir's final concert performance in one of Rome 's glorious cathedrals. For more information on how YOU can join this Alumni Tour of Italy, contact Brad Heegel or Mary Toso.
Italy - Option #2

Most recent itinerary
For those of you who may have already visited Italy, we invite you to join The Augustana Choir on a tour of what many Italians would consider the real Italy. Monsignor Giuseppe Liberto, maestro of the Sistine Chapel for Pope John Paul II and now Benedict XVI, hosted the Choir for their 2002 performance in St. Peter's. Following that Mass, he told the group: “when you return, you must see the real Italy, beginning with Sicily!” This year's tour itinerary captures those lesser known, yet stunning beauties of Italy. The Choir, led by Dr. James Johnson and tour manager Emily Drommerhausen, will perform at Monreale Cathedral, outside of Palermo, Sicily; Chiesa dell' Oratorio in Capri; Sorrento's Chiesa San Francesco; the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi and in Rome at St. Peters. There will also be tours of Sicily's Greek Ruins, the tragic city of Pompeii, an Italian vineyard, and an overnight cruise from Palermo to Naples. In other words, this will certainly be a tour you will not soon forget! Seating for this grand adventure is limited, and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information on joining the Augustana Choir for this memorable excursion, contact Emily Drommerhausen.
