Siouxland Trombone Festival

Augustana College is pleased to announce that we will be hosting and coordinating the 14th Annual Siouxland Trombone Festival. Our guest artist for this year’s festival is Mark Lawrence, who recently retired after several years as the principal trombonist with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. His reputation as an extremely talented performer and educator are unparalleled throughout the entire world.

This year’s festival is Friday, April 9, 2010, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. No aspiring young trombonist would want to miss this incredible opportunity, so mark the date on your calendars! It is the chance of a lifetime for any young student to actively play in a large trombone choir, listen to Mr. Lawrence perform solos, rehearse with him face to face in ensemble settings, and much more! You only need to travel to Sioux Falls to benefit from this opportunity, whereas many students in other parts of our country travel to places such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago to enjoy such an experience. In addition, the music stores will have the best products and prices available during this Festival. This is an opportunity no trombone student should miss!

Brochures and registrations forms will be available in February 2010.

Mark your calendars!
