According to federal law, an institution may withhold any of the required fields of entry, i.e., the nature, date, time, location and/or disposition if any of the following conditions apply:

  • The disclosure is prohibited by law
  • If the disclosure would jeopardize the confidentiality of the victim
  • If disclosure would jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation or the safety of an individual
  • If disclosure would cause a suspect to flee or evade detection
  • If disclosure would result in the destruction of evidence

  • 10:15 AM - Office of Campus Safety, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Bike Theft.  A student presented to the Offfice of Campus Safety and reported that their bike had been stollen from the bike rack on the north side of Bergsaker Hall.  The theft occurred some time durring the 22nd of September.  Incident report completed.

  • 11:37 PM - Tuve Hall, 2016 S. Menlo Avenue.  Drug / Narcotics Violation.  A phone report of a drug violation came into the Office of Campus Safety Dispatch.  Officers responded to the dorm room where the violations were discovered.  Officers siezed drug paraphernalia and other contraband from the room.  The contraband was placed into evidence.  Incident report completed and forwarded to University authorities for follow-up.

  • 10:00 AM- Stavig Hall, 2008 S Walts Avenue.  Elevator Malfunction.  Campus Safey Dispatch received a phone report of a student that became trapped in an elevator after it had malfunctioned and stalled in between floors.  Campus Safety Officers responded as well as maintenamce staff.  Elevator tech support arrived and corrected the elevator issue.  The student was unharmed and was extricated from the elevator.  Incident report completed.
  • 8:50 PM - Off-Campus / Private Property, Dollar Tree off of 41st and Minnesota Avenue.  Suspicious Male Subject.  A student presented to the Office of Campus Safety and reported that a unknown male subject made inappropriate comments to the student which made them feel uncomfortable.  Incident report completed.

  • 12:25 AM - Bergsaker Hall, 1110 W. 33rd Street.  Alcohol Violation.  Campus Life made contact with Campus Safety Officer by phone and requested assistance with an unlock.  Officer responded and was advised by Viking assistant that some one had been sick in the men's restroom.  The sick student was identified and cleaned up his issue.  Incident report completed.

  • 11:17 PM - Froiland Science Center, 2407 S. Summit Avenue.  Damage to Property.  While on routine patrol an Officer observed a light pole that had been struck in a parking lot knocking the pole to the ground.  Incident report completed.

  • 5:44 AM - Granskou Hall, 2009 S. Prairie Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  Officers responded to a full fire alarm activation that came into the Campus Safety Notification Center.  When Officers arrived on scene there was no visible flame or smoke.  SFFR responded to the alarm also.  It was discovered that a pull alarm had been activated.  Maintenance was called and reset the fire alarm panel.  Incident report completed.

  • 9:20 AM - Tuve Hall, 2016 S. Menlo Avenue.  Unknown male on Campus.  A student presented to the Office of Campus Safety and wanted to speak to an Officer about an unknown male that was on Campus Friday, September 8th.  The unknown male was attending the dance that was held in the Back Alley.  The male subject was not a University student.  The student and male subject went to a Tuve Hall day room and the male subject began to make sexual advances towards the student.  The male subject stopped the advances when he was told to.  The subject left without any further issues.  The next day the subject began texting the reporting party.  Investigation continues.  Incident report completed.

  • 10:50 AM - East Hall, 2001 S. Summit Avenue.  Theft from Motor Vehicle.  A student contacted the Office of Campus Safety and reported that their vehicle had been broken into.  Officers responded to the location of the vehicle and was advised by the victim that their car had been opened and items were thrown about within the vehicle.  The glovebox was left open and money had been taken.  Incident report completed.

  • 10:00 AM - Costello Hall Hall, 2413 S. Grange Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  CS Officers and SFFR responded to a fire alarm.  There was no flame or smoke visible when Officers arrived on scene.  SFFR investigated the incident and reset the fire alarm panel.  Incident report completed.
  • 4:10 PM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Behavioral Health Issue.  A student presented to the Office of Campus Safety and reported to Officers their concern for their roommate's safety and fear that they may harm themself.  The appropriate resources were contacted.  Incident report completed.

  • 10:30 AM - Elmen Center, 2505 S. Grange Avenue. Theft.  A student presented to the Office of Campus Safety and reported that they had their cell phone and wallet taken from their back pack while the back pack was in an unsecure location in the Elmen Center.  Incident report completed.
  • 8:00 PM - Froiland Science Center, 2407 S. Summit Avenue.  Bike Theft.  A student presented to the Office of Campus Safety and reported that their bike had been stolen from a bike rack.  The bike was secured to the bike rack.  Incident report completed.

  • 12:00 AM - Tuve Hall, 2016 S. Menlo Avenue.  Sexual Assault.  Officers were called to Tuve Hall in reference to a sexual assault report.  Officers made contact with the female victim.  Officers contacted SFPD and reported the incident.  CS Officer transported the victim and Campus Life representative to a medical facility and was met by SFPD at the facility to initiate a criminal investigation.  Incident report completed, investigation continues.  A male suspect in the case has been identified.
  • 3:00 PM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Well-being check.  Officers were called by Campus Life staff to assist in a well-being check of a student.  Officers made contact with the student and they were safe and required no other assistance.  Incident report completed.

  • 6:15 PM - Tuve Hall, 2016 S. Menlo Avenue.  Disturbance.  Officers responded to a phone report of a non student causing a disturbance in the residence hall.  Officers made contact with a  male subject and issued a trespass notice.  Incident report completed.

  • 1:35 AM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Noise Complaint / Alcohol Violation.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report of a noise complaint from a residence in Solberg Hall.  Officers responded and isolated the source of the noise complaint.  Officers made contact with occupants of the room.  Officers discovered several alcohol violations during the contact.  Several subjects were identified.  Incident report completed and forwarded to University authourities for follow up.

Prairie Avenue.  Noise Complaint.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report of loud noise coming from a dorm room.  Officers arrived on scene and identified the source of the noise complaint.  Officer talked to the occupants of the room about the complaint.  No further issues were reported.  Incident report completed.
  • 9:39 AM - Mikkelsen Library, 2117 S. Summit Avenue.  Medical Emergency.  Officers responded to a phone report of a subject that had fallen and had been injured as a result of the fall.  The victim was evaluated and was transported by a personal vehicle to a medical facility for further evaluation.  Incident report completed.

Summit Avenue.  Noise Disturbance.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone complaint of loud noise coming from an apartment.  Officer responded and identified the source of the complaint.  Officer made contact with the occupants of the apartment.  Officer advised the occupants.  Incident report completed.
  • 4:30 AM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  Officers and SFFR responded to a fire alarm notification.  When Officer arrived on scene no visible flame or smoke was observed.  The occupants of the building had evacuated.  SFFR investigated the alarm.  A faulty sprinkler head appears to have been the cause of the alarm activation.  The fire panel was reset.  Incident report completed.
  • 3:00 PM - Duluth Place Apartments, 2334 S. Duluth Avenue.  Bike Theft.  A student reported to Campus Safety Dispatch that their bike was taken from the bike rack in front of the apartment.  The bike was not secure.  Incident report completed.

  • 2:45 AM - Duluth Place Apartments, 2334 S. Duluth Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  Campus Safety Dispatch received an alarm notification from Midwest Alarms advising of a fire alarm.  Officers responded and did not observe visible fames or smoke at the apartment complex.  SFFR also responded.  The alarm was activated as a result of a cooking accident.  SFFR arrived on scene and reset the fire alarm panel.  Incident report completed.

  • 10:27 PM - Public Property, 37th Street Intersection of Walts Avenue.  Unconscious / Intoxicated Subject.  While on routine patrol, Officer observed a male subject lying next to street.  Officer evaluated subjects medical condition and found the subject was breathing but had a strong odor of an alcholic beverage about his person and appeared to be in deep sleep.  Officers contacted SFPD and PD responded and evaluated the subject.  The subject was transported by PD to the Minnehaha County Detoxification Center.  Incident report completed.

A staff member contacted the Office of Campus Safety and reported that they believed that there were stolen items that were placed in a outside trash container. Officer responded and found several pieces of mail and other iitems in the trash. Pictures of the items were taken. SFPD responded and placed the items into evidence. Incident report completed.

  • 10:00 AM - Center for Western Studies, 2121 S. Summit Avenue. Attempted Burglary. Staff members contacted Campus Safety by phone and reported a suspicious male subject that was in the building. Officer responded. Staff reviewed video and observed the male subject attempting to open a storage area with a screw driver. The subject left the building before Officer arrived. Officer searched the Campus but was unable to locate the subject. Sioux Falls Police were notified. Incident report completed.
  • 12:14 PM - Elmen Center, 2505 S. Grange Avenue. Fire Alarm.  Campus Safety received notification from the fire system that an alarm had been activated. Officer responded and found that the building was in full alarm. SFFR was responding. It was discovered that contractors had activated the alarm while completing an install. The alarm was reset. Incident report completed.

  • 6:37 PM - Stavig Hall, 2008 S. Walts Avenue.  Officer Complaint.  CS Dispatch received a phone report from a camp supervisor that a camp participant had reported to them that two Officers were going through their room.  Officer made contact with the camp supervisor and advised the supervisor that two Officers were on duty and making required rounds through the building, but no entry was made into any individual rooms.  Officers reviewed video of the dorm entry / exit area of the dorm and no other Officers were in the building at the reported time frame.  Incident report completed.

Summit Avenue.  Water Leak.  Officers received a radio call from housekeeping staff concerning a leak from the ceiling in a lab.  Officers responded and foud that water was leaking due to a hose coming undone.  Professors were contacted and responded.  The leak was controlled and staff arranged for the area to be cleaned.  Incident report completed.

Walts Avenue.  Theft.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report of a possible theft of a camp student's belongings.  Officers responded and made contact with the reporting party.  Officers were advised that some money had been lost and not stolen.  Incident report completed.

  • 1:02 PM - Diversity Experience House, 1923 S. Prairie Avenue. Fire Alarm.  Officers were notified by Campus Safety Dispatch that there was an active fire alarm.  Officers and SFFR responded to the scene.  When Officers arrived there was no flame or smoke visible.  SFFR arrived and investigated.  High humidity within the building had caused the alarm activation.  The fire panel was reset by SFFR.  Incident report completed.

Prairie Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  Officers were notified by Campus Dispatch that a fire alarm had activated.  SFFR also responded.  SFFR investigated and advised that humid conditions had activated the alarm again.  The fire panel was reset by SFFR.  Incident report completed.

  • 12:45AM-Humantities parking lot (2120 S Grange Ave).  Unresponsive Subject.  Officers while on patrol found a subject sleeping in middle of the parking lot.  EMS and SFPD were called to respond.  Subject left for detox with SFPD.  Report was completed.

Grange Avenue.  Noise Disturbance.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report of a male subject that was taking the LSAT test became extremely loud and was disrupting the testing process.  Officers responded and removed the subject from the testing area.  Incident report completed.
  • 8:36 PM - Global Ed. House, 2001 S. Norton Avenue.  Property Damage.  The Hall Director on Call Contacted CS by phone and reported that a storage area in a theme house had flooded and caused damage to items that were being stored in the area.  Incident report completed.

  • 10:00 AM - Bergsaker Hall, 1110 W. 33rd Street.  Criminal Damage to Property.  A student presented to the Office of Campus Safety and reported that their vehicle had damage to the sun roof.  Officer recorded information.  Incident report completed.
  • 11:45 AM - Elmen Center, 2505 S. Grange Avenue.  Medical Call.  CS dispatch received a phone report of an injured student in the gym.  Officer responded.  Ambulance also responded.  A student had injured their back and required further medical attention.  The student was transported by ambulance to a medical facility for further evaluation.  Incident report completed.

  • 5:22 PM - Campus property.  Well-Being Check.  Officers were requested to check on the well-being of a student.  Campus Life was contacted and advised of the request.  The student was located and was safe.  Incident report completed.
  • 10:32 PM - Stavig Hall, 2008 S. Walts Avenue.  Fire Alarm,  Campus Safety Officers and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to Stavig Hall for a fire alarm.  The building was evacuated.  SFFR arrived on scene and determined that the fire system was malfunctioning.  Maintenance on call responded and determined that there was a sensor that was bad and would have to be repaired on 1/3/2017.  Fire watch would remain in effect until the system is repaired.  Incident report completed.

  • 3:45 PM - Stavig Hall, 2008 S, Walts Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  Officers responded to a fire alarm at Stavig Hall that was sent into alarm due to a flooding issue.  A water pipe had cracked and flooding occurred in the lower level of Stavig Hall.  Buildings and Grounds staff also responded to the scene.  Restoration services responded and began cleaning the area effected by flooding.  Buildings and Grounds staff continue to repair the effected water pipe.  Incident report completed.

  • 2:30 PM - Bersaker Hall, 1110 W. 33rd Street.  Trouble Alarm.  A fire trouble alarm activated in the Campus Safety Dispatch Center.  The alarm indicated a specific room in the dorm.  Officer responded to the room indicated.  Officer made contact with the student resident.  The student resident admitted to the Officer that they had disconnected the smoke alarm.  The student agreed to reconnect the smoke alarm.  The fire system went back to normal.  Incident report completed.

  • 4:15 PM - Loki House, 2404 S. Summit Avenue.  Noise Complaint.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report of loud music coming from an apartment.  Officers responded.  Upon arrival Officers made contact with the reporting party.  The reporting party advised that the loud music was coming from a specific apartment.  Officers attempted to make contact with the resident of the apartment but they would not come to the door.  The residents of the offending apartment were identified.  Incident report completed.

Norton Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  Midwest Alarm Services notified Campus Safety of a Fire Alarm at the Global Education House.  Officers responded along with Sioux Falls Fire Rescue.  When Officers arrived there was no alarm activation at the residence.  SFFR arrived on scene and checked the fire panel and found that there was no active alarm.  Maintenance was contacted and is checking into the issue.  Incident report completed.

Summit Avenue.  Drunkenness.  Officers responded to Summit Avenue Apartments to assist residents with the removal of an intoxicated non student.  A sober driver was contacted and came to the scene and transported the intoxicated subject home.  Incident report completed.

Prairie Ave.  Check the Wellbeing.  Officers responded to Granksou Hall to assist in checking the wellbeing of a student who had called the Helpline with suicidal thoughts.  Students was located, evaluated and transported to the hospital for evaluation and possible medication overdose.   SIoux Falls Police Department and Paramedics Plus assisted.  Incident report completed.
  • 3:11am - Stavig Hall, 2208 S. Walts Ave. Check the Wellbeing.  Officers responded to Stavig Hall to assist in checking the wellbeing of a student who had made comments and taken actions of self harm.  Subject fled prior to officer arrival.  Sioux Falls Police assisted with the search of subject.  Subject located on campus by Sioux Falls Police.  Subject was evaluated by a member of the community crisis response team.  Incident report completed.

  • 1:49 AM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Drunkenness.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report of loud banging and yelling.  Officers responded and located an extremely intoxicated male subject that was the source of the noise disturbace.  The subject was identified as a USF student.  The subject then fled the scene but was later apprehended on the north end of Campus.
  • 2:34 AM - Granskou Hall, 2009 S. Prairie Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  A fire alarm notification came into Campus Safety Dispatch.  Officers responded.  Residents had evacuated the building.  Sioux Falls Fire Rescure arrived on scene.  While investigating the cause of the fire alarm SFFR discovered that a pull alarm station had been activated in the lower level of a stairwell.  SFFR also discovered that the fire exit door had been blocked open.  The fire alarm was reset by SFFR and the building was declared safe to reoccupy.  While residents were entering the building Campus Safety Officers observed a male subject that had been identified in an earlier incident on Campus that had fled on foot to avoid apprehension.  The suspect was detained until Sioux Falls Police arrived.  The detained suspect is now a suspect in the fire alarm activation.  The suspect was issued a trespass notice.  The suspect was then transported to the Minnehaha County Safe Center to recover from severe alcohol intoxication symptons.  Incident report completed.
  • 8:15 AM - Froiland Science Center, 2407 S. Summit Avenue.  Medical Emergency.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report of a subject that has passed out.  Officer responded.  An ambulance also responded.  The victim was assessed and transported to a medical facility.  Incident report completed.

  • 12:30 PM - Summit Avenue near 31st Street.  Hit and Run Non-Injury accident.  A student presented to the Office of Campus Safety and reported that they had witnessed a car hit a parked car.  The witness had an Officer follow them to the accident scene.  Sioux Falls Police were contacted.  The witness identified the hit and run suspect vehicle.  The vehicle belonged to another student.  The suspect student was located.  Police issued citations.  Incident report completed.

  • 6:35 PM - 33rd Street & Grange Avenue.  Bicyclist vs. Motor Vehicle Accident.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report of an accident that occurred off Campus.  Officers responded to the location given.  Officers interviewed the bicyclist and driver of the vehicle involved.  Sioux Falls Fire Rescue, Paramedics Plus and Sioux Falls Police arrived on scene.  The bicyclist refused medical treatment as he was not injured except for bruising on his leg.  SFPD completed the accident investigation.  Incident report completed.

Menlo Avenue.  Vandalism / Trespass Notice.  Officer was on routine patrol when two juvenile males were observed walking.  One of the males had a broken lampshade on top of his head.  Officer recognized one of the males who is a suspect in a theft / vandalism that occurred on Campus earlier in the week.  Sioux Falls Police were contacted and arrived on scene.  The two males were issued trespass notices.  Parent of one of the juveniles arrived on scene.  The juvenile was released to the parent.  The other juvenile was transported to his home and was released to parents.  Incident report completed.

Grange Avenue.  Officer made contact with Sioux Falls Police Officer and requested they check on the status of a vehicle parked on a University parking lot.  SFPD later contacted Campus Safety Officer and advised that the vehicle had been checked and the vehicle had been reported stolen in June of this year.  The vehicle was impounded by SFPD.  Incident report completed.

  • 6:00 PM - Duluth Place Apartments, 2334 S. Duluth Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  A student resident contacted the Office of Campus Safety and reported that the fire alarm was going off.  Officers and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to the scene.  When Officers arrived on scene there was visible smoke coming from a lower level apartment.  SFFR arrived on scene and determined that the fire alarm was activated as a result of a cooking accident.  There was no damage to the apartment.  SFFR reset the fire panel and cleared from the scene.  Incident report completed.
  • 8:40 PM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Medical Assistance.  Officers were contacted in person by a subject that reported that a male was experiencing shortness of breath and chest pain.  Officers located the victim.  Officers evaluated the victim and contacted 911.  Fire and Ambulace arrived on scene and evaluated the victim.  Victim was advised by Paramedics that they should be transported to a medical facility for further evaluation.  Victim refused treatment and transport.  Incident report completed.

Walts Avenue.  Hit & Run Motor Vehicle Accident.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report of an accident involving three vehicles.  Officers responded and interviewed witnesses.  Witnesses reported that a vehicle had struck two parked vehicles and left the scene.  Witnesses were able to record the license plate of the vehicle that left the scene.  Sioux Falls Police were contacted and responded.  Police continue to investigate.  Incident report completed.

Grange Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  Officers responded to a fire alarm activation.  When Officers arrived they were directed to the source of the alarm in an apartment.  Smoke was coming from the stove area in the kitchen of the apartment.  Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to the scene.  The alarm was the result of a cooking accident.  SFFR reset the fire panel.  Incident report completed.

Lake Avenue.  Multi Motor Vehicle Accident.  Officer was contacted by witnesses of a vehicle driven by an elderly male had struck three vehicle while attempting to park his vehicle.  The driver and owners of the vehicles that had been struck were identified.  Sioux Falll Police responded and issued a vehicle damage report.  Incident report completed.
  • 2:00 PM - Kirkeby- Over Stadium, 2700 S. Lake Avenue.  Intoxicated female student.  Officers were called to evaluate a female student that was intoxicated.  Student was identified and was released to her sister for transport to their off Campus residence.  Incident report completed.

  • 10:28 PM - Schoeneman Apartments, 1411 W. 33rd Street.  Drug / Alcohol Violation.  Officers were dispatched to a residence after a phone report of drug activity came into Campus Safety Dispatch.  Officers located the source of the drug activity and identified several students involved.  Incident report completed and forwarded to University authorities.

Lake Avenue.  Hit and Run Motor Vehicle.  Officers responded to a phone report of damage done to a parked vehicle.  Officers made contact with the reporting party and owner of the vehicle that had damage.  Incident report completed and Sioux Falls Police responded and issued a damage report.

Summit Avenue.  Attempted Burglary.  Campus Safety dispatch received a phone report of an attempted burglary.  Officers responded to the location given.  A window was broken and it was unknown if entrance had been made.  Nothing was reported missing from the office.  Incident report completed.  Investigation continues.
  • 9:15 AM - Granskou Hall, 2009 S. Prairie Avenue.  Vandalism.  Officer responded to a phone report of vandalism done to a day room window.  Incident report completed.
  • 6:30 PM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Reckless Driving.  Officer observed a student opperating a moped / scooter on Campus sidewalks.  Student was identified.  Incident report completed and forwarded to University authorities.
  • 8:29 PM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Well Being Check.  Parents of a University student contacted the Office of Campus safety and reported that they were attempting to contact their student but had been unsuccessful.  Officers attempted to locate the student but were advised that the student had been located and no further action was required.  Incident report completed.

Grange Avenue.  Hit & Run MVA, Non Injury.  Campus Safety Officer was contacted by a student and reported that their vehicle had been damaged.  Officer responded and was advised by the victim that the vehicle and driver of the other vehicle involved was not present when they returned to their car.  Officer recorded victim information and advised victim to contact Sioux Falls Police to conduct further investigation.  Incident report completed.

Grange Avenue.  Motor Vehicle Accident.  A student contacted the Office of Campus Safety by phone and reported that they had struck a parked car in the Solberg parking lot.  Officer responded and recorded vehicle information and located the owner of the parked car.  SFPD responded and issued a damage report.  Incident report completed.

Walts Avenue.  Narcotics Violation / Drug Violation.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report of a strong odor of Marijuana present in the hall.  Officers responded and identified the source of the odor.  Suspects identified.  Incident report completed and forwarded to University authorities.

  • 9:25 PM - Granskou Hall, 2009 S. Prairie Avenue.  Inappropriate Behavior.  Three students presented to the Office of Campus Safety and reported that a student residing in Granskou Hall was acting inappropriate in certain areas of Granskou Hall.  The subject was identified.  Officers made contact with the subject at Granskou Hall.  The subject was interviewed and counseled.  Incident Report completed and forwarded to University authorities.

  • 5:00 PM - 31st Street intersection of Summit Avenue.  Simple Assault.  Two students approached Officers and reported that a vehicle occupied by several male subjects had approached them and the subjects began throwing water balloons at the students.  Several balloons struck the students.  Incident report completed.

  • 2:04 AM - 1906 S. Menlo Avenue.  Drunkenness.  Officers were dispatched to a private residence to check on the wellbeing of a student that lived off campus.  Officers evaluated the condition of the student who was found to be intoxicated.  The student refused medical attention.  The student's roommates agreed to care for the student.  Incident report completed.
  • 5:15 PM - Bergsaker Hall, 1110 W. 33rd Street.  Public Intoxication.  Officers were dispatched to investigate a male subject that was laying on the ground.  Officers determined that male subject was not a student and was intoxicated.  The subject was very intoxicated and Officers called 911 for assistance to determine if the subject required medical intervention.  Ambulance and Police arrived on scene.  The subject refused medical attention.  Police removed the subject from campus.  Incident report completed.

  • 3:58 AM - Stavig Hall, 2008 S. Walts Avenue.  Medical Call.  An officer was dispatched to check on the well-being of a student who was concerned about medical symptoms. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue and Paramedics Plus ambulance also responded and assessed the health of the student. Appropriate action was taken. Incident report completed.

Lake Avenue.  Medical Call.  Officers and an EMT responded to a personal injury caused by a fall from a railing where the victim had been sitting during a football game. After initial treatment by an EMT, relatives declined further care and took responsibility for the victim. Incident report completed.

Lake Avenue.  Medical Call.  Officers and an EMT responded to a report of a person falling ill during a football game.  After initial treatment by an EMT, relatives declined further care and took responsibility for the victim.   • 2:30 PM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Stalking.  Two students presented at Campus Safety to file a late report of a stalking incident off campus 48 hours earlier. While walking from a local business back to campus the students noticed that they were being followed by a a vehicle driven by a male subject. The subject pulled alongside the students and began making obscene suggestive remarks while video recording the students with his cellphone. Incident report completed and forwarded to SFPD.
  • 8:13 PM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Indecent Exposure.  A student presented at Campus Safety to file a late report of an incident which occurred approximately one month earlier. While walking along the perimeter of campus the victim reported that a male subject driving a car pulled alongside and asked for directions. The subject began to lower the volume of his voice so that the victim stepped nearer to the car to hear when the subject exposed himself. Incident report completed.

  • 5:45 PM - College Drive, Campus Area.  Indecent Exposure.  A student presented to the Office of Campus Safety and reported that a male subject had exposed himself to the student.  The student had been running when the male subject asked the student for directions while driving his car.  When the student approached the car the male subject exposed himself.  Incident report completed as well as a Police report.

  • 4:20 PM - Stavig Hall, 2008 S. Walts Avenue.  Vandalism to Vehicle.  A Campus Safety Officer was contacted by a staff member via radio that their vehicle had been vandalised while parked on campus property.  Officers responded.  Vehicle information was recorded and Police were called and arrived on scene.  Incident report completed.
  • 10:58 PM - Duluth Place Apartments, 2334 S. Duluth Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  Campus Safety and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a fire alarm activation.  SFFR reset the alarm panel.  The alarm activation was a result of a cooking accident.  Incident report completed.

  • 4:30 PM - Stavig Hall Parking Lot, 2008 S. Walts Avenue.  Motor Vehicle Accident, Non-Injury.  Campus Safety Dispatch was notified a a two party motor vehicle accident in a dormitory parking lot. Officers responded and determined there were no injuries, interviewed drivers and documented damage. SFPD responded and issued red tags to both drivers. Incident report completed.
  • 6:50 PM - Olsen House, 1936 S. Walts Avenue.  Public Urination.  An officer observed a male subject urinating outside of a University residential house. Subject was determined to be intoxicated, identified and warned that his conduct was a misdemeanor criminal offense. Subject was instructed to return to his own residence. Incident report completed.
  • 7:00 PM - Menlo Annex, 1933 S. Menlo Avenue.  Noise Disturbance, Party.  An officer was searching for a reported possible injured person when he made contact at a University residential house because of suspicious circumstances. Upon contacting the residents the officer determined that an unauthorized party was in progress and was creating a disturbance. Residence Life was notified and determined that intervention was necessary due to unsafe circumstances at the residence. The party was dispersed and a large amount of alcohol was confiscated.  Incident report completed.

  • 2:25 AM - Froiland Science Center, 2407 S. Summit Avenue.  Trespassing.  An officer conducting patrol observed three male subjects with a ladder up against an academic building attempting to gain access to the roof. Subjects were identified and SFPD were requested to respond and assist in search for a fourth subject possibly on the roof or in the building. Roof and building were cleared. Incident report completed.
  • 3:37 AM - Elmen Center Parking Lot, 2505 S. Grange Avenue.  Suspected DUI / Violation of University Alcohol Policy.  An officer conducting patrol observed a stopped car in a University parking lot with the engine running and the driver unconscious behind the wheel. Officers woke the subject up and detected a powerful odor of alcohol. Subject attempted to flee from officers in the vehicle and again on foot, refusing to identify himself for Campus Safety officers. SFPD was requested to assist in the investigation. Subject was identified as an Augustana student and was released into University custody for transport to housing. Incident report completed.
  • 3:30 PM - Global Education House, 2001 S. Norton Avenue.  Campus Safety was advised of an active fire alarm in a University residential house. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue and Campus Safety responded and determined that bathroom steam was the likely cause of the alarm. SFFR authorized reoccupation of the house. Incident report completed.
  • 4:45 PM - Duluth Place Apartments, 2316 S. Dululth Avenue.  Bicycle Theft.  A student presented at Campus Safety and reported that their bicycle had been stolen sometime over the last several days. The bicycle was locked at the time of the theft. Incident report completed and an investigation continues.
  • 10:40 PM - Tuve Hall Parking Lot, 2016 S. Menlo Avenue.  Violations of Student Code of Conduct.  An officer made contact with two subjects for directing obscenities at staff, failing to follow instructions, and dishonesty before University authorities. Subjects were identified and an incident report was completed.
  • 11:10 PM - Private Property, 2116 S. Norton, Avenue.  Noise Disturbance, Party.  A Campus Safety officer on patrol observed a party in progress involving large numbers of underage drinkers. Officers made contact with a resident of the house and warned against hosting minors as approximately three dozen guests fled on foot back towards the campus. Incident report completed.

  • 11:25 AM - Global Education House, 2001 S. Norton Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  Officers were dispatched to a fire alarm activation.  Sioux Falls Fire Rescue also responded.  When Officers arrived on scene ther were no sign of smoke or visible flame.  A cleaning crew had been cleaning the building prior to the alarm activation which may have led to the alarm activation.  SFFR arrived and attempted to reset the panel with out success. Electricians were notified of a possible issue with the fire system.  Incident report completed.

  • 8:00 AM - Center for Western Studies, 2121 S. Summit Avenue.  Theft.  Center for Western Studies personnel reported that two male subjects entered the CWS, split up and began looking through shelves of books and periodicals. Subjects left within a few minutes were described as behaving suspiciously as they exited the building. Upon checking the area where the subjects had been concentrating their attention CWS staff discovered that the interior pages of an antique atlas had been removed from the binding. Incident report completed and investigation continues.
  • 9:35 PM - Duluth Place Apartments, 2350 S. Duluth Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  Campus Safety officers were dispatched to investigate a report of an active fire alarm in a University apartment building. Alarm appeared to have been activated by cooking smoke from the kitchen area. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded, reset the alarm and authorized reoccupation of the apartment. Incident report completed.

Grange Avenue.  Theft / Attempted Credit Card Fraud.  Two subjects entered the Augustana Book Store and attempted to purchase gifts cards valued at $1,200.00 using a credit card.  Campus Safety was notified when clerks became suspicious. Subjects fled with two blank gift cards and the transaction was denied. SFPD responded and took appropriate action. Incident report completed.

  • 10:17 PM - Edith Mortensen Center Parking Lot, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  False Emergency Callbox Activation / Verbal Harassment.  DCS Dispatch received an obscene call from an Emergency Phone Box on campus. Officers responded and stopped a group of seven juveniles ages 12 -17, identified the subjects and determined who the responsible person was. SFPD responded to complete the investigation and took appropriate action. Incident report completed.

  • 5:34 PM - Diversity Experience House, 1923 S. Prairie.  Fire Alarm.  DCS Dispatch received an automated fire alarm from a University residential house and dispatched officers to investigate. Residents were evacuated and the source of the alarm was determined to be a cooking fire on a stove burner. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded, took appropiate action and then authorized reoccupation of the building. Incident report completed.
