Danielle Haley '12, Assistant Marketing Manager at Hot Stuff Foods
Danielle Haley graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana College in May 2012. She double majored in Business Administration and Sports Management, with an emphasis in marketing as well as a minor in Communications. Danielle was also given the opportunity to be part of the school's volleyball team during her four years at Augustana and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being a student-athlete.
Two months prior to graduation, Danielle accepted her position as the Assistant Marketing Manager at Orion Food Systems located in Sioux Falls, SD, where she works today.
Micah Aberson '04, Vice President of Client Service and Business Development at Lawrence and Schiller
Micah Aberson graduated from Augustana College in 2004 with a degree in business. He went on to receive an MBA from the University of Sioux Falls.
Micah is a partner at the Sioux Falls, SD based advertising agency Lawrence & Schiller and serves as the Vice President of Client Service & Business Development. In this role, Micah has worked with clients from Milbank to Manhattan including work with South Dakota Tourism, Taco Johns International, and several political clients including Mike Rounds, Dennis Daugaard, Marty Jackley, Dusty Johnson and multiple local races. Micah is married to Jaclyn, an Augie grad and practicing attorney, and has a two-month old daughter, Sutton.
Renee Poirier '12, Marketing Specialist at Lifetouch
Renee Poirier '12 As an Augustana "Viqueen," Renee studied computer science and business, and in 2012 she was an official Augie grad! After a month of vacations and painting pretty pictures she started her career in marketing at Lifetouch in Eden Prairie, Minn.
Now living in the Twin Cities area, Renee continues to develop her skills as a professional business woman, but never forgets to pay homage to the campus and community that brought her to where she is today.
Val Anderson '08, Loan Officer at Farmers State Bank in Canton, S.D.
Valerie Anderson graduated from Augustana in 2008 with a degree in Business Administration. After working at larger banks in Sioux Falls, she has returned to her family-owned bank, Farmers State Bank, in Canton, SD.
Valerie works with consumer, business, agriculture, and real estate loans as well as compliance, marketing, and managing in the bank.
Steven Lindquist '11, Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch
Steven works with the Lindquist group at Merrill Lynch. In order to build a disciplined structure and strategy around the financial goals of each client, Steven utilizes a wealth of Merrill Lynch technical resources and those from outside partners. As part of Steven's disciplined approach, he tests and analyzes specific client situations, as well as market potentialities, to create actionable strategies.
Steven joined Merrill Lynch in the summer of 2011 after graduating with honors from Augustana where he majored in Business Administration and Philosophy, with a minor in Classics. In his roles with the YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club of the Sioux Empire, Steven feels privileged to serve his community. While attending Augustana, Steven met Nicholle Sogn. They were married in the Summer of 2011, and live in Sioux Falls with their Brittany Spaniel, Lily.
Ronald K. Glover, Co-founder and Director of Information Investors Group
Ronald K. Glover (Ron) co-founded Information Investors Group, LLC in 1997 and serves as its Managing Director. Mr. Glover served as Chief Executive Officer of B2X Corporation since July 2, 2007. He has led companies in the consumer financial services and business information sectors in North America, Europe, Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. He has successfully launched many new services and new products. During the twenty years, he was with Travel Related Services of American Express Company, he served as the senior international regional executive, while living in Mexico, Sydney, Singapore, London and Tokyo. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Travelers Cheque Group and Executive Vice President of Worldwide Marketing and Strategic Planning. Mr. Glover served for four years as the President of Dun & Bradstreet Information Services, and two years as President and Chief Operating Officer of American Banknote Company.
Mr. Glover has been Chairman and Director of B2X Corporation since July 2, 2007. He served as Chairman and Director of Accoona Corporation since June 25, 2007. He received his undergraduate degree in Physical Science with honors from the University of Rio Grande in 1961.
Dan Morrison '10, Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch
Dan Morrison is a graduate of Augustana with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. He began his career with Merrill Lynch in 2009 and facilitates the team's research activities, client outreach and the team's marketing efforts.
Dan participates in many local charity fund-raisers, including serving as a mentor for Lutheran Social Services, as well as volunteering at The Banquet.
Steve Tims '11, Director of IT at Raven Industries
Steven began his internship in the IT Department at Raven Industries in 2008, his sophomore year at Augustana College. Concluding his junior year at Augustana, Steven was offered the Manager of Technical Services position, where he managed the IT Support team and datacenter operations for Raven Industries. He continued his education during his full time work schedule, and completed his senior year on-time with a double major in CIS and Business Administration from Augustana.
Steven was recently promoted to the Director of IT at Raven Industries. In this role, he is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions for Raven Industries. He currently oversees the Software Development, Infrastructure and IT Support Teams at Raven. Steven is married to Mackenzie Tims (Augustana Class of 2012) and has two wonderful children: Amelia (3) and Bennett (2). Steven's family currently lives in Sioux Falls.
Deb Taufen, retired Vice President of General Business Marketing at IBM Corporation
As the vice president of marketing for General Business at IBM, Debra led global marketing initiatives focused on serving over 40,000 clients across all industries. Working with marketing, product, and distribution channel teams, her organization delivered market insights, market demand, and sales support for over $20 billion in annual revenue. During her 30-year career, Debra held a number of sales and sales management positions followed by marketing positions driving IBM’s transformation from a hardware company to an information technology company offering services, software, and hardware.
Debra holds a master’s degree in finance and accounting from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in math and computer science from St. Olaf College.
Mollie Blaschko '13, Retirement Plan Associate at Capella
Mollie Blaschko majored in Accounting and Business administration, graduating from Augustana in December 2012.
Mollie grew up in Le Center, MN, and now lives in Sioux Falls. She works at Capella as a Retirement Plan Associate and also is a nanny for two boys. Mollie is currently working towards her CPA and QKA certifications.
Blaine Jasper '13, Staff Accountant at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP
Blaine Jasper graduated from Augustana College in 2013 with Business Administration and Professional Accountancy degree. During spring semester '13, he completed the Uniform CPA Examination.
In June 2013, he began working as a staff accountant at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP in the Not for Profit/Public Sector. As a member of the NFP/Public sector, the firm specializes in Government municipalities, Not for Profit organizations, and Higher Education Institutions. Blaine applied for his CPA License in early September and hopes to be licensed by year-end.
John Peterson '03, Co-Owner of Ferndale Market
John Peterson is the third generation of his family to grow turkeys on their family farm in Cannon Falls, MN. Founded by John's grandparents, Fern and Dale, in 1939, the Peterson family has continued to grow their turkeys free-range and without the use of any antibiotics. After some years away, John returned to the family farm in 2008 to begin direct-selling their turkey in their own label, Ferndale Market, both to further sustainability efforts and to add value to the family farm through operating more independently.
Today Ferndale Market turkey products are found in natural food stores and served in many restaurants and college and corporate foodservice settings throughout the region. Together with his wife, Erica, and one-year old son, the Peterson family also operates an on-farm store retailing local foods from nearly 100 area producers. John is a 2003 graduate of Augustana with a degree in Communication/Business.
Nick Bryant '08, Director of Client Strategy at Spyder Trap
A South Dakota native, Nick graduated from Augustana College in 2008. Shortly after, he attended graduate school at Gonzaga University where he earned a degree in Communication & Leadership Studies. During his time at Gonzaga, he worked in the Marketing and Communications office, leading the University's social media presence and managing various national marketing campaigns.
Before graduating from Gonzaga University, Nick was offered an account service position with Magner Sanborn, Advertising Age's 2012 Best Small Agency West Region. Here, he honed his skills with clients including Qualcomm, Netflix, Gonzaga University and more.
In 2011, Nick moved to Minneapolis and began a career with Spyder Trap, a full-service digital marketing agency named among Minnesota's Top 100 Companies To Work For by Minnesota Business Magazine. Nick currently serves as the company's Director of Client Strategy, leading strategy for the firm's largest accounts as well as overseeing the company's account service team. Spyder Trap's client roster includes UnitedHealth Group, Children's Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota, Cargill, General Mills and Crystal Farms.
