Covenant Award for Community

The faculty and staff on the selection committee seek your nomination for a student whose life reflects the community value for which this Covenant Award is named. The committee seeks to affirm students who have committed themselves to participating in and serving Augustana’s campus community. Eligibility for this distinction is open to all full-time students in their junior or senior year of study who have not received a Covenant Award previously. Students nominated for the Community award recognize that they are part of a community that benefits when every individual respects one another and works for the common good.

In making your nomination, please respond to the following questions providing examples or anecdotes in a supportive letter attached to this form. Your letter should provide substantial background about the nominee.

This award will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013 during the campus-wide celebration of Verdier 2013 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

• Respect for others is a pillar of communities. How has the nominee demonstrated and fostered respect for others?
• How do you characterize this nominee as a leader? For example, do others follow her/him willingly, has she/he earned the respect of others, and is she/he willing to be led? Please give examples if possible.
