The Birthday Club

The Birthday Club is a new opportunity for students to celebrate their birthdays (and other milestones) by engaging in service opportunities throughout the community. Through this unique collaboration between Volunteer Services, SALT, and Chapel, students will be invited to receive birthday blessings each month at a chapel service as well as participate in a group service project benefiting a local nonprofit agency. Students are also encouraged to venture into the community as individuals or small groups and perform random acts of kindness.

  • Month of March

Students will be collecting diapers, wipes, toilet paper, detergent, and other personal care items in support of the Necessities for Neighbors project. Collection boxes for these and other personal care items will be available in the residence halls, chapel, and at the campus safety desk.

  • Friday, March 21

Students celebrating March birthdays are invited to join us in chapel at 10 a.m. and receive a special birthday blessing. That afternoon, students from Lookout House will lead our March birthday students in serving at the Faith Temple Food Giveaway at the W.H. Lyons Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls. Sign up for the March birthday project.

  • Sunday, April 6

Students celebrating April birthdays are invited to join us in chapel at 11 a.m. and receive a special birthday blessing.
