At Augustana we have always been proud of our Scandinavian roots, our traditions, and our student-athletes. But as the walls of Kirkeby-Over Stadium grow and our athletic teams approach winning seasons in a new conference, we see the dream of an Augustana like never before rising in our midst. This spirit, this Nordic pride, is personified in our mascot, Ole the Viking.

Unveiled on February 20, 2009, before the Viking men's basketball game, the mascot personifies school spirit at Augustana.  Known as Ole the Viking, his flowing Nordic locks and steely gaze bring the pride of the home team to life like nothing else can!
