Named for Augustana's 15th president, Lawrence M. Stavig, Stavig Hall is an eight story upperclass residence hall located on the north end of campus. Stavig hosts approximately 235 second, third, and fourth year students in a variety of single and double rooms.
Stavig Hall is one of two identical buildings, affectionately called "The Towers" (Granskou Hall being the other). Stavig boasts spacious lounge spaces on the lower and main levels, as well as smaller lounge spaces on each floor. The basement lounge offers a full and recently renovated kitchen, as well as a ping pong table and large flat-panel television. Student rooms offer space and furnishings for two occupants, and provide a wireless internet connection, cable capabilities, and climate control! The main lobby offers access to vending machines, and includes a pool table and lounge space as well. A large renovation of Stavig Hall was completed during the summer of 2012, which included new paint, carpeting and furniture in each room.
Stavig rooms are 14' 5" by 9' 9" + 22" under the desk area. Rooms ending in 03, 08, 13, and 18 have been modified, possibly affecting lofts.
The furniture in Stavig Hall is modular, which means you can use individual pieces to customize your room layout. Check out this video for room arrangement ideas.
Stavig is staffed by 8 Peer Advisors (PAs) and one professional Hall Director. While you can usually find staff in the hall throughout most any day, designated PAs are required to be in the building and accessible to students every night after 7 pm. Staff can also be reached by calling the Stavig Hall on-call phone at 605.553.7686.
