Summer Coordinators


Position Summary
The Center for Campus Life is searching for eight Campus Life Summer Coordinators. These positions are available to all students who are work-study eligible. Summer Coordinators will support the Center for Campus Life department with management of the Summer Conferences and Summer Housing programs, as well as other Campus Life summer responsibilities including, but not limited to, early arrivals, loft rentals, and facility management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the check in and checkout procedures for summer conference and housing transitions, to include Theme House and Apartment communities.
  • Manage the keys and key cards for summer conference and housing programs.
  • Maintain summer conference and housing binders with updated floor plans, schedules, forms, and emergency contact information.
  • Serve in and on-call rotation with other Summer Coordinators to respond to emergency situations and assist Campus Life and Campus Safety staff in handling summer conference and housing concerns.
  • Staff summer conference desk while guests are present in the building.
  • Address guest/resident questions and concerns.
  • Assist in the inventory process of each residence hall room.
  • Assist in pre-check in process such as folding linens, setting floor plans, inspecting floors, moving room furniture, etc.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Assist with summer projects such as micro fridges and campus lofts delivery, reorganizing of hall storage rooms, etc. 
  • Administrative duties in the Campus Life Office when needed.
  • Assist with check-in of early arrivals and student athletes (August positions only).
  • Assist with peer advisor training, organizing binders and purchasing supplies for incoming students.
  • Purchase materials for fall orientation and any other office supplies.
  • Staff summer conference desk while guests are present in the building.
  • Assist with laundry and miscellaneous cleaning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Time Commitment and Qualifications
An approximate time commitment of 20 hours a week is required for the Summer Coordinator position. Students must be eligible for federal work-study to apply. Some projects require that Summer Coordinators be able to lift, pull or carry objects such as supplies and furniture.

Remuneration
In addition to hourly work-study pay, Summer Coordinators will receive a room at no cost within the residence hall(s) in which summer conferences and housing will be taking place.
