Student leadership is central to our ministry, and your involvement is encouraged.


Campus ministry sponsored opportunities:


Campus Ministry Network:
Prayer and fellowship for leaders of all ministry groups on campus. Contact the chapel office for more information. chapel@augie.edu

Catholics in Action: Mass, Bible study, discussions and other activities are open to Catholics and others interested in learning more about the Catholic faith. Leadership roles include the core planning team and music team. Contact cia@ole.augie.edu for more information.

Worship leadership: Lectors, assisting ministers, ushers, communion servers, and musicians needed for daily chapel and Sunday worship. Contact a class rep or chapel@augie.edu.

Chapel musicians: Musicians meet one evening each week to prepare Sunday's worship. Contact the chapel office for more information. chapel@augie.edu.

Koinonia (2nd Tuesday each month): Students considering church-related vocations (ordained ministry, youth ministry, church music, etc.) or further theological study gather for sharing, support, discussion and information. Contact the chapel office for more information. chapel@augie.edu.

Youth Mentors: A group gathering to support those students who work in congregations with youth groups. Contact the chapel office for more information. chapel@augie.edu.

Advocacy Team : Students gather together in Christian fellowship to put their beliefs into action on the Augustana campus and in the Sioux Falls community. Contact chair Kari Lenander orthe chapel office for more information. chapel@augie.edu.

Outreach Ministries: Over 200 students each year share Christ's love with congregations in a four-state area. Three types of teams meet weekly for fellowship and planning:

Youth teams bring overnight programs of games, crafts, Bible Study, and worship for elementary, middle, and high school students.

*
Worship teams share upbeat worship including music and message, often with congregations that are without a pastor.
*
Choros liturgical dancers worship in motion during services or for special events and workshops.

Senior speakers: Each Friday's chapel is led by a senior student who prepares the order of worship, music, and message. Contact the chapel office for more information. chapel@augie.edu

Service-learning trips: Campus ministry sponsors a variety of service-learning opportunities over fall, interim, and spring break. Recent groups have visited Pine Ridge, MN; New York, NY; Gulf Springs, MS; Holden Village, WA; and Chicago, IL. Contact chapel@augie.edu.

Service ventures locally: Campus ministry regularly serves at a local soup kitchen, worships with prisoners at the SD State Penitentiary, collects Christmas gifts for various local agencies, and more. Contact the chapel office for more information. chapel@augie.edu

Fellowship of Christian Athletes:
Meets at 9:00 p.m. in the Elmen Center multipurpose room for fellowship, praise and worship, Bible study and speakers. Contact the chapel office for more information. chapel@augie.edu

Under the Influence of Christ (UTIC): Praise and worship, study, or speakers on Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. in the Back Alley. Contact the chapel office for more information. chapel@augie.edu

Serving and Learning Together (SALT): Organizes campus-wide service efforts such as Community Service Day and Christmas Giving, connects individuals and student groups with local agencies in need of volunteers, and helps students document their time spent serving. Augustana Coalition for Social Justice (ACSJ): Organizes awareness and advocacy events around issues of justice. Contact the chapel office for more information. chapel@augie.edu
