The Lauer Site is an Initial Middle Missouri Village situated on the edge of a high terrace overlooking an old channel of the Big Sioux River. The site was recorded in 1978 when over 40 boxes of artifacts were retrieved from the base of a cache pit, from test excavations and surface collections made across an area now developed for housing.
Most of this site has probably been destroyed by the housing development, but some portions may remain intact.
