Mission Statement In the beginning because of a special relationship between Palmer Eide and the Architect Harold Spitznagle, Augustana College became a leader in Liturgical Art. This tradition has continued with the strong work of Robert Aldern. We hope for this center to become a place where Clergy of all denominations, Architects and Artists will meet to share information. The art of all the churches in the area will be documented photographically. We hope that this information will promote a needed resource for the community that will culminate in a website and in the future, a class to be taught at Augustana, "Christianity and Art". This resource is the dream of Palmer Eide, Robert Aldern and Carl Grupp. Now, with the support of Augustana College, it is becoming a reality. John Peters has been hired to photograph and document the Liturgical Art of the region, which will be put on to a computer for viewing and eventually CD roms and DVD's. |
