AUGUSTANA COLLEGE
ATHLETIC TRAINING EDUCATION PROGRAM
COMMUNICABLE DISEASE POLICY

In the event that an Augustana Athletic Training Student (ATS) should become ill, sick or injured, and is unable to participate in our required clinical experiences, he/she must perform the following:

The following health care services are available at Student Health & Counseling office located in the basement of Solberg Hall (southwest door).

Student Health Services:

Services include routine outpatient medical care, diagnosis and treatment of illness, immunizations, travel consultation and limited diagnostic testing. A registered nurse is available on-campus on weekday mornings when classes are in session. Physicians will see students at a local clinic in the afternoons.

All prospective students are required to submit a health record verifying a recent physical examination, medical history and a record of required immunizations (Tetanus, Hepatitis B). Augustana requires all incoming students to show provider documented immunization status for measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) and vaccination for bacterial meningitis.

Augustana expects that all full-time students have access to medical care as they participate in College sponsored, on or off campus. Minimum health insurance coverage is required. Students will be automatically enrolled in a low cost, College sponsored insurance plan unless they provide proof of comparable insurance coverage and sign a waiver at the start of their first term of the academic year.
