This window contains TWO summaries of internships with the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society:

Megan Berg (Class of 2008) My internship at the Jazz and Blues Society was very fulfilling. I not only learned a lot about a field I had never considered, but I learned a lot about myself. I was able to work with, and plan, some of the many different events and concerts that the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society is responsible for and it was an amazing experience. I am very grateful for being able to be a part of this internship experience and am confident that what I learned will be useful in the future.

Todd VanKekerix (Class of 2004) The Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society is a wonderful nonprofit organization located in Sioux Falls and presents a great internship possibility. One of the great aspects of the society is its size. The intern doesn’t get stuck behind the copy machine and paper shredder for hours. Instead, there is face to face interaction with many prominent business men and women in the Sioux Falls area, which is a great way to meet a possible future employer. The society also hosts a concert series in which the intern has the opportunity to see exactly what is put into bringing wonderful jazz and blues artists to Sioux Falls. You also get the chance to meet these great artists. I completed many different assignments at the society, of which included putting together travel packages for the upcoming Jazz Fest, writing newsletter articles, and putting together press releases for the concert series and Jazz Fest. Overall, my internship experience at the society was a great way to end my four years at Augustana.
