Background

Kevin Buell was born in South Dakota but moved to Iowa at an early age and attended primary school in northwest Iowa. He attended South Dakota State University and graduated with a B.S. degree in 1978. After working in agriculture related businesses for several years, Kevin decided to pursue a second career and completed his M.B.A. from the University of South Dakota in 1986. In 1988, he successfully passed the CPA exam and began a gratifying career in public accounting. Kevin’s public accounting experience includes working in both the audit and tax sections of regional and local CPA firms including McGladrey & Pullen and Charles Bailly & Co in Sioux Falls and Minneapolis. Kevin’s academic experience includes teaching a variety of accounting courses for Buena Vista University from 2000-2004. He also coordinated a Sports Marketing interim class to Phoenix, Arizona, during his tenure at Buena Vista. Professionally, Kevin is a licensed CPA and has been a member of the South Dakota CPA Society, the American Institute of CPAs and the American Accounting Association.
