Background

Professor English is a native of Sioux Falls, SD. After earning his M.B.A. at Washington University in St. Louis, he joined Arthur Andersen and Co. He worked in auditing and tax. He moved to Denver to teach at Regis College in 1971 and then moved to Sioux Falls to teach at Augustana in 1974. In addition to teaching, Professor English has maintained an interest in taxes and has assisted two local firms over the years during the tax season in addition to building a practice of his own. Mr. English has developed an interest in Business Ethics and used three sabbatical leaves to study this subject and to write business ethics cases. He has taught the Business Ethics course at Augustana many times. In addition, he has also offered talks to professional organizations on business ethics and provided continuing professional education programs on the subject to several professional organizations. He has also made several presentations at scholarly meetings in the areas of business ethics and accounting.
