| Justin Schneider ('01) has been named a shareholder by KMWF & Associates, a local CPA firm that specializes in small businesses. Justin works in the income tax area with a concentration on farm, small business and individual taxation and performs audits of construction, governmental and not-for-profit entities. |
| Augie finalists in the annual scholarship competition sponsored by SME-Sioux Falls are Kelsey Aamlid and Paula Dirksen. Kelsey and Paula will compete in the final round on April 22. |
Students in enrolled in Principles of Marketing during the fall of 2007 researched and wrote a marketing plan for Sanford's Travel and Immunization Clinic. Clinic Manager is Jon Pociask 2003 Augustana College alumnus. Jon and the clinic's two physicians read and evaluated each plan, ultimately choosing three plans they believed especially meritorious. Jon had this to say in a letter to the top three teams: "First off, I wanted to thank each and every one of you for the hard work and creativity that was put into your marketing plans. The outstanding level of thought, research, and presentation highlighted your many talents and determination to put forth your very best. We were blown away by so many amazing plans, each bringing forth new insight and opportunities." The clinic has already put in place many of the suggestions offered by burgeoning marketers.

Top honors went to Kristen Pittenger and AJ Christianson, who received a $100 Bracco gift certificate and beach chairs. Travel back packs and Bracco gift certificates were also awarded to Kyle Mickalowski, Mike Klepatz, Collin Abrahamson, Mark Mickelson, Mairead Kelly, Ashley Pike and Caitlin Wheeldon. | Junior accounting major Kara Kingma has been named a 2008 Peace Prize Forum Scholar. Two students from each of the five Norwegian Lutheran Colleges that make up the consortium (Augustana, Augsburg, Concordia-Moorhead, Luther, and Saint Olaf) are selected annually as scholars and awarded a summer travel seminar experience. The seminar is designed to deepen understanding of issues related to peace, justice, democracy, and human rights. Congratulations, Kara! |

| Sandra (Livermont) Weaver '05, and Crystal Erdmann '04, are among those recently named by the South Dakota State Board of Accountancy as having passed the CPA exam. Sandra a Senior Associate for the Sioux Falls office of RSM McGladrey; Krystal is with the accounting firm of Harper, VanScoik, & Co, in Clearwater, Florida. |
| Katie Bloom '00, was featured in a Sioux Falls Argus Leader article on the shortage of Masters-qualified social workers. After graduating from Augie with a major in Business, Katie studied at Yeshiva University's Wurzweiler School of Social Work in New York City for her MSW. |
| Emily Doidge '07, is a Technology & Plant Liaison for Renewable Products Marketing Group, LLC in Belle Plaine, MN. She travels throughout the midwest installing new equipment at each of the RPMG plants and also helps maintain relationships with the staff at the plants. |
| Val Anderson '08, is the winner of the 2007 Regional Sales and Service Award for the Great Lakes Region of Wells Fargo. Val, a senior business administration major from Canton, SD, earned this honor for being in the top 5% of Wells Fargo's Great Lakes Region sales force. The region consists of MN, SD, WI, ND, OH, IN, and northern MI. |
| Rahul Bansal '06, has passed all sections of the CPA exam and will begin work on a Masters in Business Economics at SDSU in September. |
| Gina (Kosen) Schumacher '00, was recently elected as a Director at Large of the 2007-2008 Board of Directors for Sales and Marketing Executives of Sioux Falls. |
