What aspect(s) of the Unit's governance system are working well?

 

1.

All aspects, especially anticipating and executing policies and procedures to assist our education students to enter pre-service teaching and first-year teaching well prepared. One example would be the committee's role in preparing students for the Praxis exams.

2.

This is a collaborative committee. It is a relaxed environment in which people feel comfortable sharing their ideas.

3.

Committee members have a voice in the meetings at all times. Committee members' questions and/or conerns are answered or addressed at the meetings. If not, in a timely fashion.

4.

I feel like everyone is given the opportunity to speak and give input - I've been impressed with this. I don't feel like it is a talking head situation where you would just as soon have an email sent out with directives.

5.

I think feedback to and from the group has been excellent. I believe our recommendations are shared with and considered by the faculty.

6.

I appreciate the opportunity to network with committee members--it is interesting to hear everyone's perspective. I feel we focus on important issues.

 

Are there any aspect(s) of the Unit's governance system that should be changed or modified?

 

1.

None that I can think of.

2.

Committee members should receive school mailings from the Ed Dept.

Nothing that really needs to be changed or modified at this time.

I feel it is working well.

 

Other comments/observations:

 

1.

While no one likes to be "committed" to death, I would not object to meeting three times a year if that best fits the committee's needs.

2.

Committee members are asked if the date and time of the next meeting works out for them. This is always appreciated.

3.

I have enjoyed serving with the group and commend Dr. Andrews for her efforts.
