The Foreign Language Center at Augustana College provides students with access to audio cassettes and CDs, MP3 language and music files, computerized language learning materials, and foreign language videocassette tapes, DVDs and CD-ROMs. The Foreign Language Center also provides language and foreign-language education majors with valuable work-study experiences related to their interest in foreign languages and teaching. Students are welcome to work on lab assignments and study in the facility during the hours listed below.
SERVICES AVAILABLE
The FLC assistants will make copies of course language recordings free of charge for Augustana College students enrolled in a language class; students need only bring blank 90 minute audio cassette tapes or a blank audio CD with them to the Center.
Students may view foreign language videocassettes and DVDs in American and World formats.
Materials on study and work abroad are available.
Dictionaries, newspapers, magazines, and other foreign language reference materials are available for students to consult while working in the lab.
Tutoring in French, German, Latin and Spanish is now available for Augustanta students enrolled in a language course. Tutoring is provided by the Academic Associates (AA) and advanced language students, and is available Wednesdays from 7-9 P.M. in Solberg Hall basement. Please bring your books, homework, and questions with you.
