The Augustana Choir Web Site

Augustana's premier choral ensemble, the Augustana Choir was founded by Carl R. Youngdahl in 1921. Dr. James R. Johnson is the fourth director of the choir in its 82-year history. The Augustana Choir performs at Homecoming worship, Christmas Vespers, Commencement, its tour "home concert" in February, and in a spring concert in addition to participating in Augustana chapel and Sunday worship services and in those area churches. The choir performs regularly with the South Dakota Symphony in oratorio and symphonic concerts.

The Collegiate Chorale

The Augustana College Collegiate Chorale provides educational and performance opportunities for students to be involved in choral activities. Presently, there are about 60 voices in the choir. This ensemble presents a major concert each semester. In addition, the Chorale participates at the Christmas Vespers each year and is directed by Cheryl Koch .

The Women's Choir

The Augustana Women's Choir performs joint concerts in the fall and spring with the Collegiate Chorale, participates in Christmas Vespers, and also sings for daily chapel. The Woman's Choir is conducted by Jeanne Carter.
