Electronic Music Lab Guidelines:


The Electronic Music Lab, Room 47 is intended for the use of Augustana College music students who have taken, or who are enrolled in the Electronic Music courses, or another specific music course which qualifies for lab time.

1. Lab times are posted on the door of the lab. Students may sign up for a
scheduled time to reserve a computer for one hour intervals. Faculty are
encouraged to use the lab as often as possible. Please check with Robert
Joyce to assure the lab is open and available.

2. If you wish to utilize the lab other than a scheduled lab time, you must contact
Robert Joyce to arrange a time. The lab is not open on weekends.

3. The computers in room 47 are setup specifically for music usage. If you need
to use a computer for other tasks, such as word processing, desktop
publishing, etc. Please utilize another computer in one of the many labs on
campus or make prior arrangements.

4. Do not move MIDI equipment from one computer to another. Please leave
computer configurations as you found them.

5. There is NO FOOD OR BEVERAGE allowed in the lab. If equipment
becomes damaged do to this negligence, you may be asked to pay for repair
or replacement.

6. To accommodate a number of various users in the lab at one time, please
use headphones and keep talking to a minimum.

7. No manuals or software is to be removed from the lab.

8. Lab times may change due to campus events and conflicts. Watch the
schedule for such information and arrange your schedules to accommodate.

9. No equipment is to be removed from the lab for any reason.

10. Students who are enrolled in a current electronic music course or another
specified music class has priority over students working on personal projects,
etc. Faculty requesting jobs for the electronic music lab should present requests
through Robert Joyce rather than directly to lab assistants.
