Collaboration Receives NASA Award
SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Augustana atomic, molecular, and optical physics group has received Research Initiation Grant through the South Dakota NASA EPSCoR program. The $20,000 award will fund an initial experiment exploring low energy electron impact on molecules that are relevant for understanding several astrophysical processes, including deturium fractionation mechanisms in the early universe. The experiment will be carried out a Auburn University. Eric Wells (Augustana) is the Principal Investigator and Allen Landers (Auburn) and Itzik Ben-Itzhak (Kansas State) are co-Principal Investigators. NASA partners include the group of Ara Chutjian at the Jet Propulstion Laboratory.
