Dual Degree Engineering (U. of Minnesota)

All dual degree programs require that the student complete the general education requirements of Augustana College, with the one exception being that Capstone (Area 4.3) is waived. A major must also be completed at Augustana, but it is common for many departments to allow one or more courses to be transferred back from the engineering school in order to complete major requirements.

The following courses should be completed at Augustana College if you wish to participate in the dual degree engineering program with the University of Minnesota .

All areas of engineering require:
CHEM 120 (except Computer Engineering)
MATH 151, 152, 153, 220, and 310
PHYS 221, 222

Aerospace Engineering also requires:
COSC 210
PHYS 321, 341

Bio-based Product Engineering also requires:
BIOL 120, 234, 354
CHEM 135, 201, 202, 301

Biomedical Engineering also requires:
BIOL 120, 121, 225, 234, 354
CHEM 135, 201
COSC 210
MATH 315

Bioproducts and Biosystems also requires:
BIOL 120
CHEM 135,
COSC 210
MATH 315
PHYS 321, 341
for bioproducts engineering emphasis: add CHEM 201 and 202
for bioprocessing & food engineering emphasis: add Chem 201 and 202

Chemical Engineering also requires:
CHEM 135, 201, 202, 301, 302, 311
COSC 210
also: see notes below

Civil Engineering also requires:
CHEM 135

Electrical Engineering also requires:
CHEM 135 -or- PHYS 321
COSC 210
PHYS 235, (331 recommended)

Geological Engineering also requires:
CHEM 135
MATH 315
PHYS 341

Materials Science Engineering also requires:
CHEM 135, 201

Mechanical Engineering also requires:
BIOL 120 (strongly recommended)
COSC 210
PHYS 321, 341
