Augustana College Graduation 2006.

Sioux Falls -- Four physics majors and one student with a physics minor graduated from Augustana College today. The new graduates will pursue a variety of careers in teaching, medicine, engineering and chemistry.

Two of the graduates completed their undergraduate work with honors. Ryan Mello of Casper, Wyoming, graduated Magna Cum Laude and will pursue his Ph.D. in Medical Physics at the University of Minnesota. Jamie Kapplinger, a triple major in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, from Spring Grove, MN, plans to enroll in a M.D./Ph.D. program. Kapplinger graduated Cum Laude.

Ashley Chipman of Fairmont, MN, graduated with degrees in Physics and Mathematics. She will study aerospace engineering at the University of Minnesota. Michael Hulstein of Sioux Falls graduated with degrees in Physics and Seconary Education, and plans a career as a high school or middle school science teacher. William Buchanan graduated with a Chemistry major and a Physics minor and will attend graduate school in Chemistry at Syracuse University.
