Saint Patrick's Day Poetry Reading with Dr. Patrick Hicks

SIOUX FALLS - Augustana College's Writer-in-Residence, Dr. Patrick Hicks, will be reading his poetry on Saint Patrick's Day (March 17) at Zandbroz Books at 7:00 p.m.
Dr. Hicks is a dual citizen of Ireland and the United States, and many of the poems in his first collection, Finding the Gossamer, discuss not only his experiences with terrorism in Northern Ireland, but also what it means to belong to two countries at the same time.
His work has appeared in scores of international journals including, Ploughshares, Utne Reader, Tar River Poetry, Glimmer Train, Natural Bridge, Irish Studies Review, The National Catholic Reporter, and Nimrod. He has been nominated several times for the Pushcart Prize, he was shortlisted for the Pablo Neruda Poetry Prize, and he lived in Northern Ireland during that period of violence known as "The Troubles."
