Alumna to Perform at Autism Event

SIOUX FALLS - Amy Ostrem Dresch, Augustana class of 1991, will perform at the second annual Arms Around Autism on Saturday, April 25, at the Children’s Care facility at 2501 W. 26th Street in Sioux Falls.

Dresch is a vocal instructor and owner of Cathouse Studios. She will perform her latest single, You’re Not Alone. The song was written and dedicated to her son, who has autism. The song also features hip hop rapper, Blitz Maximus.

Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that typically lasts throughout a person’s lifetime. It is part of a group of disorders known as Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Today, one in 150 individuals is diagnosed with autism and it occurs in all racial, ethnic, and social groups. Autism impairs a person’s ability to communicate and relate to others.
