Augustana Student Invitational Exhibit
Twelve students will have their work showcased at the Augustana Student Invitational May 29-August 29 at the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery.
The exhibit encompasses the full range of mediums taught at Augustana: sculpture, drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, graphic design and digital photography.
Students participating in the exhibit include Joan Ashton (Sioux Falls), Brady Holm (Fairmont, MN), Kathy Haag (Hutchinson, MN), Jamie Horter (Bristol, SD), Al Hurney (Brandon, SD), Brian Iverson (Sioux Falls), Kari Newton (Sioux Falls), Kaija Pedersen (Fairmont, MN), Megan Siegle (Carver, MN), Britta Stadem (Sioux Falls), Audrey Stommes (Sioux Falls), and Jamilyn Vavreck (St. Peter, MN).
Prior to their final year at Augustana College, art majors have their work reviewed twice in an open critique, usually following completion of at least 15 and 24 studio credit hours. At the reviews, each student artist presents to all of the faculty and art students a portfolio of at least ten important works and also prepares an artist statement.
The works in this exhibition have been selected by the art department from this year’s reviews, and exemplify a range of projects created in Augustana art courses.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. The gallery is open Monday-Friday 10:00 am–5:00 pm; Saturday noon-5:00 pm; closed Sundays. The gallery will be closed during the July 4th holiday.
The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery is located within the Center for Visual Arts on the Augustana campus.
