CWS Dinner-Program Presents "A Tribute to Arthur R. Huseboe"
SIOUX FALLS — At the end of July, 2009, Dr. Arthur R. Huseboe will become director emeritus of the Center for Western Studies at Augustana.
On Tuesday, June 16, Dr. Huseboe will be honored during an evening filled with music, literature, speakers, photographs, and videos. Musical numbers will be performed by the Bill Gibson Trio and musicians from the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra.
The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with a reception in the Morrison Commons Ordal Dining Room. The dinner and program follow beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Dr. Huseboe is a 1953 graduate of Augustana College. He taught at Augustana from 1956 to 1957, returned to teach in 1961, and has been a full-time professor/administrator ever since. He has published several books and articles, including An Illustrated History of the Arts in South Dakota. Dr. Huseboe has been the Executive Director of the Center for Western Studies since 1989 and previously held the National Endowment for the Humanities Chair in Regional Heritage at Augustana.
In addition, friends, colleagues, former students, and well-wishers are encouraged to send stories, words of congratulations, and best wishes to Dr. Huseboe that will be compiled in a memory book and presented to him at the event. Tickets for the dinner and program are $60 per person, $40 of which is tax-deductible. Proceeds benefit the Center’s operating and endowment funds.
