Alumna Performs at the Dakota Sky International Piano Festival
Zarina Melik-Stepanova, Augustana class of 1999, will be a featured artist during the Dakota Sky International Piano Festival July 23 through August 5.
Melik-Stepanova will perform a professional recital on Thursday, July 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the Belbas Theater at Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science in Sioux Falls. She will be performing with Jose Luis Hernandez Estrada, Karren Melik-Stepanov (Augustana Cello Instructor/Chamber String Ensemble Director), and a chamber orchestra.
In addition to performing, Melik-Stepanova is leading a master class on Friday, July 31 at 2:30 p.m. in the Belbas Theater.
Melik-Stepanova is Assistant Professor of Piano at Oklahoma State University. She received her Doctor of Musical Arts, Master of Music and the coveted Performers Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with Natalya Antonova.

The Dakota Sky International Piano Festival brings world-class young artists to Sioux Falls during a two-week summer music event. The festival includes solo and chamber music recitals, master classes for piano students, free and open to the public lectures on the multi-faceted world of music, and educational opportunities for children, including children’s concerts.
