SIOUX FALLS – Termespheres by Dick Termes opens at Augustana College’s Eide/Dalrymple Gallery on March 26 and runs through April 24. An artist’s reception will be held at the gallery on Friday, March 26, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

What is a “Termesphere”? To begin, these works are highly detailed perspective paintings captured onto spheres. Dick Termes has spent a lifetime studying the art of perspective and perfecting his careful and colorful renderings that produce a full 360-degree viewpoint through his signature 6-point perspective. Part fantasy, part optical illusion, Termespheres are some of South Dakota’s most recognizable and popular artworks.

Termes will exhibit 24 of his fantastical spheres at the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery. The artist will also lead Augustana students in a perspective workshop and give an artist talk on Friday, March 26.

Gallery hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 12:00-5:00 p.m. Saturday. The gallery is closed Sunday. The gallery will also be closed over Easter break from Friday, April 2 to Monday, April 5.

The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery is located in the Center for Visual Arts on the Commons Circle off 30th Street and Grange Avenue.
