The Augustana Bands present their Christmas Extravaganza at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls. The concert includes performances by three ensembles – including a unique Christmas performance by the Brass Choir – and will feature a grand finale performed by the three groups together.

Conductors Dr. Bruce T. Ammann and Dr. Paul R. Schilf lead this musical celebration of holiday favorites, including:

  • “Fanfare pour precede ‘La Peri’,” “Hallelujah Chorus” and “Canzon Noni Toni” by the Brass Choir.
  • “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Tidings,” “Midnight Sleighride” and “Laughing All the Way” by the Augustana Band.
  • “Christmas Declaration,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” “Minka’s Sleigh Ride,” “What Child is This?” and “We Need A Little Christmas” by the Augustana College/Community Concert Band.
  • The world premiere of the Festival of Hymns, volume IV, arranged by Jeremy Hegg, ’94, and performed by the combined ensembles.

Featured groups include the Brass Choir, the Augustana Band and the Augustana College/Community Band.
