Augustana to Host 'Send-off Celebration' for Tour de Kota

Augustana College will host the official check-in and kick-off festivities for the seventh annual Argus Leader Tour de Kota, one of the region’s largest cross-country bike tours. The check-in party will be held from 3 - 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, at Augustana’s Morrison Commons.
A “Send-off Celebration” will run concurrently on Augustana’s “Campus Green” and will feature live music, food, bike races, inflatables for kids and other activities.
Augustana is recruiting students, alumni, friends, faculty and staff to join “Team Augustana” during the six-day, 430-mile ride. “Team Augustana” will be led by former Women’s Softball Coach Dr. Sandy Jerstad. Blue and Gold “Team Augustana” cycling jerseys will also be available for purchase. To become a member of the Team, be sure to list the promotion code “AG” when registering for the Tour.

Tour de Kota begins on Sunday, June 5, and runs through Friday, June 10. From Augustana, riders will head north to Brookings, one of more than 30 small towns and cities in South Dakota on the Tour. The Tour has an average of 800 participants who will ride at least one day of the week. More than 450 cyclists ride each day of the Tour.
