Luther House of Study announces the second annual Proclamation on the Plains Conference on the evenings of Jan. 8-10, 2012. The conference features Dr. Diane L. Jacobson, professor of Old Testament, Luther Seminary (St. Paul, Minn.), speaking on the Psalms. The conference will take place at Sioux Falls Seminary in Room 204B. Both lay people and ministry professionals are encouraged to attend this event for insightful, relevant theological conversation.

Conference attendance is limited and costs $100 per person. Conference housing is available at the Jerstad Center, Good Samaritan Society, 4800 W 57th Street, Sioux Falls, SD. About Dr. Diane L. Jacobson

Dr. Diane Jacobson came to the Luther Seminary faculty as an assistant professor in 1982, and was promoted to associate professor in 1990. In 1999, she became professor of Old Testament. She has served as chair of the biblical division (1993-1996) and associate dean of MA/MSM programs (1997-2006). She previously taught at New York Theological Seminary, New York. Jacobson is a Phi Beta Kappa magna cum laude graduate of Connecticut College, New London (1970). She holds an M.A. degree from Columbia University/Union Theological Seminary (1975) and Master of Philosophy and Ph.D. degrees from Union (1982 and 1990). She is a member of the Society of Biblical Literature and an ELCA Associate in Ministry. She is the co-author of "A Beginner's Guide to the Books of the Bible" (1991) and numerous articles on such topics as wisdom, creation and psalms. In addition, she has written multiple Bible studies.
