Nov. 6: Public Education Program on the Thawing Arctic

Recent headlines have warned that rapid Arctic thawing could trigger catastrophic climate change. The East River Group of the Sierra Club and Augie Green are pleased to present Dr. Norman Bliss's lecture on climate change. Bliss will discuss the science behind the headlines and share his own research and experiences in Alaska.
The presentation will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Augustana College Gilbert Science Center, Room 100. The public is encouraged to attend.
About Dr. Norman Bliss
Bliss received his ungraduate degree in forestry from the University of California, Berkeley, his Master's degree in forestry from the University of Washington, Seattle, and his Ph.D. in city and regional planning from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. He taught at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls for six years. For the past 25 years, he has worked on national and global soil databases at EROS Data Center in Sioux Falls.
