The Augustana Percussion and Keyboard Ensembles, under the direction of Dr. John Pennington and guest conductor, Jacob Mahowald, will present its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, in Kresge Recital Hall of the Humanities Center.

Dr. John Pennington has created an exciting program, including percussion chamber works by a variety of composers.

Augustana Percussion, Keyboard and American Gamelan Ensembles

The Augustana Percussion Ensemble, directed by Dr. John Pennington, is committed to preserving the seminal literature of the past as well as the premiere and creation of new and diverse works. The Percussion, Keyboard and American Gamelan ensembles constitute the variety of Percussion Performance opportunities at Augustana. In January 2015, the Augustana Percussion Ensemble presented concerts on a 23-day tour of the People's Republic of China as well as performing at the Percussive Arts Societies International Convention in 2014. The ensemble has produced two CD recordings: Aurora Borealis (2012) and Gitanjali (2014).
